About Little Momo
More about the restaurant: Little Momo
Little Momo has a thing for dumplings, specifically the type of dumpling (momo) popular in Tibet, Nepal and northern India. Similar to the Chinese baozi and jiaozi, Mongolian buuz, and the Japanese gyoza, momo are finding their way ever deeper into Sydney’s food-consciousness, perfect little parcels stuffed with a wide variety of meat and vegetarian ingredients and served with delicious sauces and chutneys. Little Momo’s King Street, Newtown restaurant is determined to make the little momo a big phenomenon – and with everything from savoury momo to desserts based around sweet dumplings, they’re on to a winner. The spicy tse-momo are hearty enough to consider a main course, with beef, pork, seafood and vegetable versions available, covered in a spicy tomato sauce and garnishes and looking a lot like a bowl of Italian ravioli or gnocchi. But European cuisine this is not – expect spice and exotic flavours through and through.
