After being mesmerised by Hawaii’s fresh cuisine during their honeymoon in the island of Oahu back in 2011, Poke’s founders made it their goal to bring the Hawaiian-style sushi they became so fond of back to their fellow inhabitants of Sydney. Meaning to cut or slice into small pieces, Poke’s name is representative of the unique style of deconstructed sushi delights on the menu. Ensuring that their environmental footprint stays small, the folks at Poke on Coogee’s Dudley Street are committed to preserving the environment, and making incredible food, too.
Sydney is lucky to have a restaurant like Poke within city limits, and where better than in beautiful seaside Coogee? Create your own dish, or let Poke do it for you. We recommend the Coconut Delite, which consists of white fish cured with coconut and citrus then combined with local, seasonal produce, or The Aloha Way, your choice of ahi tuna or salmon combined with sesame, cherry tomatoes, green shallots, onions and soy. Poke is known for offering great specials, so be sure to check in often (after reserving ahead for the best table!).
