Great service & food. Well located. Pleasant surroundings. The mid week banquet was also excellent value for money. We look forward to eating at Zum Zum’s again.
Always a delight to come back to one of our favourites. Everything here is most enjoyable and Greg is a great host and always has time to chat.
The $30 set menu offer was excellent value and came with all the favourites, for carnivores and vegetarians! Service was personable and prompt! One of my favourite restaurants. Wednesday nights are also BYO wine so even better value!
amazing meal, very friendly staff and more than worth the $30 for the amount and quality of food that is served. Absolutely recommend going here
We had a great dining experience at Zum Zum. Our party of 4 ordered the banquet and we found the range of dishes excellent and great value for money. We find this middle-east inspired restaurant better than many others as the dishes are not oily but still have the traditional flavours and are delicious . Home made icecream and excellent turkish delight with arabic coffee were a great way to finish off a very satisfying meal.
We booked through Quandoo and were offered 6.00 or 8.00pm online, we arrived to have a drink in the area prior to 8.00 and there were only 2 tables with people at them at Zum Zum. The waitress had no record of the booking, but said ok to be seated. The main complaint is that the waitress had no conception that our party of 4 were hoping to have a good time and that she has role in providing pleasant service. She didn't smile, she showed no warmth or energy, just stated that it is only banquet available midweek and because January is so quiet this was the case in fact every night. We were brought the food efficiently and offered more of anything we wanted (inclusive) but it was so very ordinary we didn't want any more. Nothing really wrong with the food, but I can cook up more exciting flavours at home. Still at only $30 a head no great harm. Would we back? No way! Zum Zum = Ho Hum.
We had a lovely dinner at Malouf Zum Zum. The food was delicious and service very good. The atmosphere is relaxed and the setting in the Rathdowne Village is lovely and parking is easy.
Excellent food, lovely atmosphere with friendly service. When asked if they had gluten free food for one of our party the host marked up the menu for him and explained how they could adapt some recipes so that his options were as varied as everyone else’s. Highly recommended
Food has definitely gone downhill from when we we there last, and we have eaten there many times. But it seems to be in new hands and yet they are trumpeting the "Malouf" brand. I wonder whether they are some sort of 4th cousins of Maloufs trying to cash in on the name, because the food has definitely gone downhill. Zum Zum used to have a lovely fish dish with spices and laced with tahini. No longer on the menu. The lamb shoulder which they recommended as one of the main meals worth trying was almost tasteless and dry. The maanek sausages as entree were definitely different to (and not as good) as the old ones, which were more like cevapcici in texture. What was pleasant enough was the service. But I'd seriously consider not returning here based on last night.
Fabulous food. All dietary requirements (including Vegan) were adequately catered for which I thought was going to be difficult given the sharing nature of the dishes, but it was done perfectly. Great value. I will be back!
