Very friendly staff and wonderful food. Great service wasn't rushed and prices very reasonable. Got given a loyalty card so will definitely return maybe on a music evening
Nice place, great service and food excellent. Party of 4, two had hot stone steak and we also had the beef and the lamb. I would recommend you give this place a try 👍
Went for the set Burns Night menu, all courses were really lovely, perfect portion sizes for a 3 course meal. Good choice of wines, we had the Rioja which was superb. The service was also excellent. All in all a lovely place to eat!
Very enjoyable. Nice food and plenty of choice. Alcohol prices were also very reasonable. Only criticisms I would have is it is a little cramped and the hotel music that was playing all evening was a little annoying but not enough to detract from the nice evening we all had for my son's 18th Birthday.
A fair effort, in terms of value for money. Staff polite, meal well paced and safe. Our hope was to enjoy the Burns' Night billing. However, not a note of a Scottish pipe or poetry rendition ever made an appearance on the airwaves, just music from a Sixties (maybe later) excursion in a lift, in Vegas. Not a swatch of tartan, Saltire, a bonnet or a thistle in sight, shame, We don't ask for kilts, only Scots should (voluntarily) put themselves through that torment. The menu was uber safe, but the slither of Haggis (was it home made, or not, guess not), usually the star of a Burns' Night, was too small and hidden beneath a small portion of beef stew, these set neatly on top of neaps and tatties. Soup was tasty but a tad thin, plus no bread and butter. Dessert, fine. Set menu drink elements fine, but no choice for a couple.
We had a very nice evening out at the Canopy last night. Excellent food, well cooked and beautifuly presented, not too 'outre' but inventive cooking. Our waitress was excellent as were the cocktails and very reasonably priced wine. Although she did have some help seving we felt that possibly a third person might be helpful as the food had to be brought downstairs from the kitchen. Hard work! The only improvements might be to the lighting, a little more subdued would improve the atmosphere. But we all liked our evening and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Canopy to anyone
Our meal at the Canopy was excellent - Sean and his team served very well and the food was excellent. I had the herring for starter and the braised beef for the main course, whereas my wife had the smoked Salomon for a starter and the fish of the day ( Sea Bass ) for the main course - we then shared an excellent poached pear for a dessert. We would definitely recommend this restaurant as a very good high class restaurant.
On our way to the Epsom Derby we had pre-booked 143 The Canopy in Epsom High Street. Our overall experience was a lovely meal, excellent staff, great value and all in lovely surrounding !!!
Service was appallingly slow. 90 minutes wait for our main course. Unacceptable with a very limited menu. No apology made for this until complaints from many tables provoked the comment that "a chef hadn't turned up". Wine list very limited and over-priced. Soup and liver was OK, sauce for prawn cocktail served in a tiny jug, but didn't pour so had to be scraped out [no spoon provided], pork was no more than adequate. Had no time left to try the puddings. Although only a small restaurant there were only 15 diners while we were in the restaurant, so being busy could hardly explain the situation. Only one waiter on duty, who was friendly and did his best, but obviously had no training for this job.
We had an excellent meal with very attentive service - my wife is lactose intolerant and Sean insured that her choices were OK or adjusted for her allergy. Sea Bass was excellent as was the raw tuna starter was to die for.
