Fans of proper Italian cuisine in Manchester can all agree that Al Bacio is a rarity. Restaurateur Domenico La Calla and his team work tirelessly to present guests with a taste of the bel paese, and they have earned a reputation for excellence that surpasses any expectations. No matter the occasion, whether it’s an evening out with that special someone or a casual lunch with friends, this Deansgate restaurant – found on King Street – provides a casual yet sophisticated backdrop to any dining occasion. With ample space for large groups, Al Bacio is also a fantastic choice for private functions including birthday parties, corporate functions and more.
If you want to experience your meal in true Italian fashion, begin with some antipasti like the gamberoni e parma ham (king prawns wrapped in parma ham served with diced vegetables) before moving on to a hearty Italian main. We recommend the spada in agrodolce (swordfish steak, served with a sultanas, pine nuts, cherry tomatoes and a sweet and sour sauce) or some homestyle lasagna, cooked just the way your nonna would. Stop in at Al Bacio in Manchester’s Deansgate for an unparalleled Italian meal – buon Appetito!
Always excellent food and service here. It's my new favourite place to visit when I'm in Manchester! A truly fantastic experience! Definitely recommend giving this place a go!
Really nice food and wine. The service was excellent and attentive. A really good menu to choose from with some specials. I will be returning.
Superb food; shared a pizza Calabrese and had pasta; diavola and aubergine-both divine. House red with water; great service and atmosphere for a Saturday night as well!
The food was excellent and the service was very good, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone, only downside is the appearance from the outside
Came across this restaurant by chance on an offer website. The offer wasn't available at the time we wanted to dine, but we decided to try Al Bacio anyway. It was a good decision. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Another good thing about this restaurant is that you can have a starter size of any pasta. I will certainly be revisiting here.
Al Bacio is a hidden gem in Manchester. Everything from the welcome to the food itself was perfect. Francesco was a most attentive and charming host and the duck ravioli was to die for. Highly recommended to anyone planning a trip to the Christmas Markets.
My husband and I went to Al Bacio on a Sunday evening so it was very quiet as were all the city restaurants. The food was very good and plentiful. The staff are very friendly and Italian which pleased my husband as he is also Italian. We will definitely go there again.
There was not much wrong with the food or service at Al Bacio. It's just that it was all rather ordinary. All a bit average! Nothing to differentiate between this and any other run of the mill Italian restaurant. But don't let that put you off if you are in the area . . . it was good enough.
Al Bacio has excellent food and excellent service. It has a really nice atomosphere and I would definitely recommend it. Its never been too busy when I've been in either.
Excellent service and excellent staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them even accommodating an extra guest at a minutes notice. From start to finish was an enjoyable experience and at a very reasonable price for 9 of us. Would highly recommend them and hope it won't be too long for our next visit.
With fab food, good wine and great service Al Bacio is definitely worth a visit or two, or three. See you again soon! Thank you
Really pleased. The food was excellent, full of flavour and it had a generous portion of chicken. Great service, very friendly. Loved the deco, Very calm atmosphere, you can actually hear what your partner is saying, This is a proper restaurant, best Italian style, and we fully recommend it.
From the moment we arrived at the restaurant the staff were lovely & attentive, good choice of both drinks menu & food. The food was outstanding, we each ordered different dishes of the menu, but each one was hot, well presented and delicious. Will definitely be back soon.
Visited with a groupon deal for two. Excellent service. Prosecco was chilled and delicious. Waiters extremely attentive. Food was tasty my only criticism is slightly too salty. Also it was quite empty but I believe more people need to know about this place. Other than that great food and I would visit again.
Excellent place! Very good food and atmosphere, and excellent service. Started with italian style bruschetta and a bottle of red wine from Sicily, then had an excellent beef fillet served with truffle sauce. Delicious! Experience to be repeated.
Good, friendly service, greeted as soon as we walked through the door. All the tables were spaced well apart and the standard of the food was excellent. The best sea bass I have eaten. Who could want more!
Enjoyable lunch time meal with a friend, friendly professional staff, lovely restaurant and very clean with a relaxing atmosphere. The food was prepared in the kitchen open to view in the corner of the restaurant. Highly recommended.
Fab everything did a review on trip advisor that we loved it and will return even thou there was a mix up with one dish the service was great professional and taken care of in a whizz
Lovely food , excellent friendly service, a bit quiet at lunch time, tucked away down a side street. I hope that they busier in the evening as a restaurant as good as this deserves to do well
Excellent food and fantastic service - I will be going back ! The waiters were very helpful in their recommendations and the food was of good quality and all home cooked even the authentic Italian Cheesecake.
A lovely restaurant tucked away up a side street. Food and staff both good- visited on a Groupon offer so good value. Will possibly return but will downgrade to pasta/pizza as usually visit Manchester mid week for a budget catch up with friends.
Amazing food! Generous portions and reasonably priced. Customer service was excellent, they really make you feel welcome and never rush you. I love how it's tucked away from the hustle and bustle as well.
Nice staff, amazing prices for central Manchester, really good food, nice place. Well recommended. Brilliant for if you're going to the opera house. Will go again and would recommend this restaurant to others.

Fantastic & authentic Italian restaurant. The staff were fantastic and the food was beautiful. I had the salmon and pear risotto-it was amazing! We will be coming again soon :)
The waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was great. I had a steak, medium-rare. My wife had the chicken breasts. Both dishes was cooked well. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Definitely worth it.
Lovely ambience in this restaurant and the staff are very pleasant. The food was great - we has the chicken livers followed by the veal which were both very tasty; well cooked and well presented.
Lovely ambience at the restaurant, staff helpful and very pleasant. The food was good well presented and reasonably priced. Overall an excellent dining experience. I would definitely go again
Excellent food and fabulous service. I was bought a groupon voucher for my birthday and the food and service exceeded my expectations. We will definitely visit again. Thank you.
Simply superb from the warm attentive greeting to the regretful goodbye. Large portions, great taste, good value and perfect service. Whilst it was quiet, it deserved to be busier.
What can I say other than everything was fantastic - the staff, the food and the restaurant - everything was perfect - we will be back, Rob And Judy
Really good evening. Great food and charming staff. Service a bit on the slow side but not really a problem. If we lived in Manchester we'd definitely be back.
We had to send a fillet steak back twice, the pepper sauce was cold and tasted like gravy and the second meal had clearly been microwaved. It then took 20 minutes to receive a third meal by then we had all finished and my partner had to sit and eat alone. Very disappointing will not be returning.
Great service very good food and comfortable and relaxed ambiance. Always provide home cooked specials which are really very good This restaurant is an hidden traditional Italian gem a short stroll from Albert Square
Friendly, professional staff, great tasting quality food. Wait time for food was timed nicely. Background music not too loud. The table layout caters for couples and groups, with the tables and chairs well presented.
