Austria meets Australia up in Erina. From their Central Coast outlet on the outskirts of Gosford, the Austrian Schnitzelhaus serves up, unsurprisingly, schnitzels and other icons of Austrian cuisine such as spaetzle and strudel. With a central location within The Hive in Erina Fair shopping centre, you can expect an authentically Austrian pitshop to your trip around the boutiques – complete with breaded meats, sauerkraut and a wide ranging selection of imported beers, wines and, of course, schnapps.
Great food and service from travis was excellent. Schnitzels were tender and fresh, ribs were juicy and very well cooked. Good value for money. Recommend.
Service was first class, food was mouthwatering Did not have to look for waiter to order more drinks Would most definitely highly recommend We have been patrons for quite a few years and the service has not faltered
It was our first time visiting this restaurant. I am a Coeliac and assumed that you would not be able to cater for gluten free. Imagine my surprise when I was able to have three delicious courses all gluten free. Your staff were amazing, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We'll be back!
When one thinks of Austrian cuisine, there is one dish that towers above all others. The Wiener Schnitzel – an escalope of veal or chicken, breaded and fried and served up with a slice of lemon – is the number one culinary export of the Austrian people, and at the Austrian Schnitzelhaus in Erina, you can be sure of an authentic experience. Situated at The Hive, inside Erina Fair shopping mall just beyond Gosford city, you can be sure of a satisfying slice of Austria, accompanied by traditional favourites such as spaetzle and sauerkraut, washed down with lashings of Stiegl beer and finished off by the iconic apple strudel.
Austria Schnitzelhaus sets the schnitzel bar pretty high by incorporating their favourite food into their name. Their menu down at The Hive in Erina Fair though, goes much further than just the eponymous escalopes. Their specialities selection takes in the whole gamut of Austrian cuisine, with goulash, pork knuckle and wurst platters. If you’re in the Gosford area and you need some high-quality, homestyle cooking, you could do far worse than Austria Schnitzelhaus – but beware: you won’t be the only ones with the idea, so make sure you book a table ahead of time.
