Sitting on the dock of the bay, as it were, lies the St Kilda branch of Bay City Burrito, one of hte finest exponents of wrapped-up Mexican favourites in Melbourne. Granted, the bay by with they sit is Port Phillip rather than the Gulf of Mexico, but the flavours on offer on Shakespeare Grove are capable of transferring you, temporarily at least, from Victoria to Veracruz, with an array of tacos, quesadillas and, yes, burritos, that can be filled with whatever takes your fancy, from grilled chicken or steak, to pork carnitas, tofu or vegetables as a base, plus plenty of additional ingredients: take your pick from beans black or pinto, rice Spanish or brown, any number of salsas, a huge range of salad veggies options and the ubiquitous guacamole, sour cream or cheese.
