There are so many cafes around Sydney that it can be difficult to know what to look for when trying to find one that’s special. Well, let us tell you: look for Bell Blue Cafe in Lindfield. Why? Because it’s a humble establishment that doesn’t aim to be something it’s not. All you’ll find here is the finest quality coffee, great food and a truly warm embrace. It’s in the heart of Linfield right on Pacific Highway and, once seated, you may just find yourself dwelling for longer than you thought…
In Bella Blue you have a cafe that’s perfect for a casual visit as well as for special occasions. It’s for this reason as well as many others that we think it’s one of the best in Sydney. We’ll start with the cafe itself, set in the heart of Lindfield on Pacific Highway, it’s decked out with simplicity in mind. Think neutral colours, cool woods and lots of light. Then there’s the food that comes out of the kitchen. Led by a vastly experienced chef, it makes use of only the finest ingredients and serves rustic food that will put a smile on your face.
For a cafe, the menu at Bella Blue is vast and sophisticated. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is a breakfast menu, constantly rotating blackboard specials as well as light meals and even tapas. Some mains from the a la carte include barramundi fillet on a bed of pumpkin & herb couscous, roasted duck with honey & cumin infused sweet potato, as well as crumbed veal cutlet with some dreamy hand cut chips. It’s also worth mentioning that the drinks list at this Lindfield hotspot is long and Bella Blue also operates a BYO policy. Really not much to dislike as this cafe sets a fine example to others like it in Sydney.
Lunch with a friend. Great service, excellent meal. I had the vegetarian risotto and my friend, the chicken and avocado salad. Both well cooked and presented. Followed meal with great coffee. Will definitely be back.
Went there for lunch last Saturday. The menu has good selections. The staff was friendly and helpful. Love the crispy skin and juicy meat of the spatchcock and duck breast.
The service was, as always, of a very good standard, as well as being friendly. The food was lovely: two of us had the salmon special, which was delicious, and the other two had the spatchcock, which they have pretty regularly and always enjoy.
A really relaxed setting food beautifully cooked, menu has excellent variety and the meal was delicious. I particularly liked the quieter relaxing music .so important when you are conversing with friends.
My wife and I went with 4 friends from the Eastern Suburbs on a Saturday evening. It was well patronised and not unexpectedly so given the quality and tastiness of the food that we all experienced and the efficient, helpful and friendly service. The manager Dinu, who we consider to be one of the best baristas around, had the night off however his stand-in was also excellent and the coffees he made were pleasingly of high quality barista standard.
Our group of four adults enjoyed our experience at lunch time. The waiter was very pleasant and obliging, unlike many other waiters we have experienced he had a smile and seemed to enjoy his work. For the most part the food was enjoyed by all, and we could here ourselves talk. I don’t know what the noise volume would be like during the evenings, perhaps more noise? We wish them good luck in the future. Patricia & friends
Discovered this great little local restaurant after not visiting since it was a cafe in the 90s. Big menu to suit the whole family and good quality food. We had 2 courses each and it cost just under $200 for the seven of us. We took our own wine. Service is friendly and the place was almost full - not bad for a Sunday night.
The best thing about the Bella Blue is that it is not noisy as they have carpeted the floor and had sound blocks installed. The service and food were good. There is plenty of variety. Admittedly since we were there the same time as the State of Origin football, there were relatively few people. However, I would suggest that friends try it.
Had a very nice lunch there. Service was friendly. The atmosphere was warm and for once I could hold a conversation in a noiseless environment. I would recommend this restaurant for good food and friendly service all round. Would happily go there again. Food prices very reasonable.
The service was good, the food was cooked and presented well. The ambience was great because there is enough space to spread the tables out so we could actually have a conversation! A well priced menu and wine list too.
