About Brassica Grill

Modern British cuisine rubs well-seasoned shoulders with a variety of succulent grills and international dishes on the menu at Brassica Grill. Stockport has welcomed this honest gourmet restaurant ever since restaurateur Paul Faulkner (Manchester’s The Modern, Zinc, and Albert Square Chophouse, London’s Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge and OXO Tower) set up shop along Shaw Road in Heaton Moor. With a carefully chosen, seasonal menu (including a very tempting and very affordable prix fixe menu), people are flocking to Brassica Grill from around Greater Manchester.

Further Information

Brassica Grill’s fixed price set menu is a great way to explore what this Stockport restaurant’s considered, gourmet offering is all about. Choose from two or three courses, from noon to 7pm, and expect nothing but locally-sourced ingredients brought together in dishes such as an Andalusian gazpacho, grilled Goosnargh chicken, and a delectable Yorkshire rhubarb and custard dessert. With Brassica Grill, down Shaw Road in Heaton Moor, you can find the best of British with an international set of inspirations at work in the kitchen.

Brassica Grill’s a la carte menu is equally down-to-earth, with a strong showing of the grilled meat and vegetable dishes that are this Stockport’s restaurants forte, and a similarly strong demonstration of how Faulkner can capably marry British cuisine with international flavours and textures. Grilled Wye Valley asparagus with portobello mushrooms and a truffled poached egg sauce are a great vegetarian starter. Brassica Grill’s popular grills keep the kitchen busy down Shaw Road, and the restaurant is already well-known among Heaton Moor locals for its 28-day aged steaks and chops, sourced from premium suppliers and proudly displayed separately from the mains. When it comes to these, Loch Duart salmon, Icelandic cod, Goosnargh chicken, and High Peak spring lamb are evidence of the attention that Brassica Grill pay to what makes it to table.

Excellent food and good service from the young staff. The 10oz steak melted in the mouth and was cooked as requested (Medium Rare). The onion sauce was an ideal accompaniment.

An excellent meal as usual. Delightful staff. Good quality food and well cooked. The raspberry souffle was heavenly. Why go into Manchester when we have such a good local restaurant.

The service was great but the food was even better. We will definitely come again, hopefully bringing more guests next time. Our daughter found this restaurant on the internet and we are so glad she did - it was a great find.

As in previous visits ,excellent food and excellent service at value for money prices. Only problem is that parking is always difficult, especially at weekend. Highly recommended

Book Sunday lunch at Brassica Grill for a table of four; the food was excellent, particularly the Ox Tongue salad starter and the Pork belly main course; both dishes were on the fixed price menu which offers a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains & 3 desserts with 2 courses for £14 and 3 courses charged at £17, this proves to be fantastic value for a bib gourmand rated restaurant. The staff were pleasant and knowledgeable, if a little slow due to a very busy looking service. Parking can be a little tricky given the restaurants location within a small row of shops in a residential area; however there is spaces to be found within a short walking distance. Overall, the food and drinks were of a high standard and good value and I would, therefore, have no hesitation in recommending Brassica Grill.

After hearing good things about this restaurant I thought I would give it a go. I was never convinced by the decor & it did put me off going. I was wrong ! You will not be disappointed. The food was excellent as was the wine we chose. The food was reasonably priced for the high standard that we received. I have paid more for not as good. The young manager that looked after us was a credit to the restaurant. Happy, knowledgeable & good service. We had a good evening. I don't like to recommend normally but this is one place that I will. We will be back again soon....

We started with aubergine, labneh and pane carasau, with lovely fresh and spicy flavours, two portions provided a nice light started for our party of four. We then had the most wonderful rib eye steak, tasty tender meat with a beautiful charcoal flavour on the outside, cooked exactly to our specification, both the medium-rare and rare versions were perfect. Good chips, excellent peppercorn and blue cheese sauces. The sides of mixed salad and buttered Savoy cabbage were a little on the bland side. Two of us managed pudding, the Braeburn apple soufflé was fluffy and light and the Norfolk treacle tart was heavenly. We had a couple of glasses of Pinot Noir El Viejo, very pleasant with the steak. The expresso coffees were excellent. Service was courteous and efficient.

We ordered the salt beef scotch eggs and aubergine to start - very good. For our main courses we had cod with spiced lentils, and a sirloin steak. The cod was cooked perfectly and the lentils were delicious but it also had an avocado and coriander side which was an odd pairing. The first steak was over cooked, I asked for medium-rare and it wasn't. However the second steak was beautifully cooked and had bags of flavour. The staff were really friendly even when I changed my mind and asked to cancel a desert ( if it wasn't too late). The good stuff was really good but it needs a few tweaks to make it great - some odd food combinations and harsh lighting.

This little gem of a restaurant certainly hits above its weight in both value for money and culinary experience. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the staff are efficient and very attentetive. The menu choice is really good and the food presentation and preparation is excellent. There is also a good choice of wines. We would certainly recommend this restaurant to family and friends and it is a perfect choice for an evening as a couple of for meeting up with friends. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Another excellent meal at Brassica Grill. The Scotch egg starter remains a firm favourite, and the sirloin and fillet steaks with the onion and bone marrow sauce were fantastic. Great wine selection, delicious puds and friendly service. A credit to Heston Moor.

This was a birthday treat for my wife. All 4 of us had the special 3 courses for £17.50 each on a quiet Sunday afternoon, post Christmas. All 3 courses were delicious, very well presented and cooked to the highest standard, the standard you would expect in a city centre high class restaurant at twice the cost. Brassica will do very well serving the "Four Heatons" area of Stockport, Manchester and I would strongly recommend you give it a try.

The whole experience was wonderful. It is the first time I can recall going out in a group of 4 where every one of us enjoyed all courses of each meal - usually there is at least one of us who wishes they had something else! The service was also great with the right amount of time between courses and the right level of attentiveness from the staff. All in all a brilliant evening - and we will be back!

One of the best meals we've had at Brassica (and they've all been good). All dishes were gorgeous but the scallops starter is a stand-out dish , so well balanced with avocado, mango and exactly the right amount of fresh chilli. Both main courses - cod and chicken were perfectly cooked, moist and succulent. Sadly, we didn't have room for pudding. As ever, the service was superb - friendly and efficient, what more could you ask for?

Fantastic food and great service. You have to give the Barnsley chop a go. My Mrs had a brilliant steak. If you're into seasonal food, sourced locally and cooked impeccably, then give Brassica Grill a go.

A really lovely intimate restaurant, perfect for us girls catching up for a right good chinwag - you can actually hear yourselves speak! Service was perfect, staff fantastic and the food is by far the best we've had in a long time. For me, a beautiful salted beef scotch egg to start and the tastiest steak I've ever had for main, perfectly cooked too. We will be back! Thanks guys!!

Fantastic service with knowledgeable staff. Unpretentious, and don't refer to you as guys every 3 minutes. Food was absolutely excellent and at a reasonable price too. When we next book, I'd make sure I select a preferred table as it's a small dining room and some are better than others. That's the only but I can find as on the whole we were very impressed with this restaurant.

Staff were there to greet us on arrival and very friendly and helpful throughout the evening. There were 4 in our party and all of us agreed that the food was delicious, each of us having 3 courses. I was pleased to note that one of our favourite wines, Giddy Goose, was on the menu. Overall, a very enjoyable evening and a restaurant to which we will return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Brassica. It was an interesting menu with a good choice of dishes. The menu and wine list weren't overloaded which is a common mistake. The food was well cooked and presented. I had pork belly which was cooked to perfection and had a fantastic flavour. The staff were friendly and efficient. I would recommend this restaurant and will certainly be returning.

Was so impressed with the food and service. It was my first visit along with 6 friends and we all said we'll be going there again. Our waitress called Katie was friendly and was a lovely girl, she couldn't have done any more for us, she was amazing and I would say worth her wait in gold to the restaurant, she's definitely an asset!

We went for a family meal to celebrate our son's 21st birthday. The food was lovely, tasty, well presented and the portion sizes were fine for all of us, even my husband who likes a full plate. The staff were attentive and welcomed feedback when my husband, who had a bottled beer with his meal, mentioned that it was served too cold. Overall a very enjoyable meal and we will definitely be going back.
