Stylish dining and modern Italian cuisine merge to provide an out-of-this-world experience at Melbourne's Cosi Bar Ristorante on Toorak Road. As one of South Yarra’s most trusted Italian restaurants, this chic establishment has earned a reputation for excellence that goes far beyond great food and service – the crew’s passion for innovative Italian cuisine is what keeps it going strong, and is what brings diners back again and again.
At Melbourne’s Cosi Bar Ristorante, you’ll be greeted with friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere each and every time you visit, whether it’s for lunch, dinner or in-between. Open seven days a week, this local Italian restaurant on South Yarra’s Toorak Road features an elegant environment that’s perfect for special occasions, a romantic dinner or even private functions – the restaurant can host up to twenty guests and up to thirty in the courtyard, so simply enquire within to set up an unforgettable bash.
Located just moments from Fawkner Park, Cosi Bar Ristorante is a standout when it comes to upscale Italian dining in South Yarra. Entrees such as the warm chicken terrine with Jerusalem artichoke and black garlic and the seared scallops with panko crumbed pork belly are ideal for starting off your dinner on the right foot, and antipasti like the house-made salumi and prosciutto with grissini and melon are perfect for sharing with tablemates before dining on mains ike saffron spaghetti with seafood and green pea risotto with goats curd, tendril salad and pistachio crumble. Favourites here include the duck breast and leg with parsnip puree, baby carrots and puffed grains, as well as the Western Plains pork belly served with baby turnips and apple vanilla puree. For dessert, we highly recommend the vanilla cheesecake with blueberries, citrus jam and honeycomb, or the cheese platter featuring local and imported varieties. Don’t let yourself be disappointed – reserve in advance!
We had a most delicious lunch at Cosi and the service was so pleasant and helpful . I have never been disappointed with my meal at Cosi , the quality of the seafood in my meal was superb.
Food and service of high quality. Staff watched to track the needs of the table. Had the experience of being in a restaurant where all aspects ran smoothly.
We chose Cosi for our New Year's Eve Dinner with close friends... The service was fantastic, stunning menu - totally delicious, and ambient setting! What more could I say! Fabulous!
Excellent service on a particularly busy night over the holiday period. Rowena (Sommelier) knowledge of wine impressive and attention to detail perfect. The slow-cooked lamb roast will be a fave in future visits.
A very nice place, new to me though apparently long established. It is one of those venues I spot as I travel around and make a mental note of as something about it appeals to me and I wanted to try it out. The location is great being right in the hub of Toorak Rd (west) precinct among some classy eateries. Food and ambience are the reasons to come to Cosi which offers an up market Italian experience. While there is BYO available, the corkage makes their wines a better way to go unless you want to bring a special bottle of something. The prices are at the top end of what I look for but, all up it was well worth it. I definitely commend it to you and booking via Quandoo makes it so easy to do.
Dining at Cosi is always a pleasure. Food is great. Service is pleasant and professional. And the restaurant has a lovely ambience. It is also not unduly loud and you don't have to yell to make yourself heard. Whilst it's not cheap I always enjoy dining here and will continue to do so in the future. It is so great for easy to hear conversations with friends, wonderful service and good Italian food.
An enjoyable experience. Food was very good quality with good presentation. Good wine list. Very friendly staff. It was one of very few restaurants that does NOT have two sittings on a Saturday night, therefore we could reserve a table at the time that suited us. It is small (and not noisy) with a lovely outdoor area in the back. Booking was simple and easy. Don't overlook this restaurant.
The Lunch set menu while only 2 choices was reasonable value - serves are quite small. Both choices were pasta. I think it would be better if the choices were different. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. Food service was fairly prompt. Bread and olive oil was served as part of the meal and we substituted mineral water for the glass of wine which was part of the set menu option. The environment is relaxed and very pleasant.
I returned to Cosi after a 15 year gap due to a move to Sydney. It’s as good as ever, smart delicious food - we had seafood pasta and the dusted calamari with rocket - and excellent friendly service. Restaurant was full and a great buzzy atmosphere. Ask for the table by the fire.
I went here on a Monday night. It was quiet and we were among about 5 groups inside yet the atmosphere inside was very nice and warm. Waiters were knowledgeable and attentive and most importantly the food was terrific.
