Steak is excellent. Lovely relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Top quality food and drink. Prices very reasonable and staff very welcoming. Would definitely recommend. Try the fillet
I was running late and had very little time but the staff could not have been more understanding and helpful. My meal arrived quickly and was so delicious. The flat iron steak was beyond perfect. Next time I will make sure I can stay longer.
Excellent place to go for a small number of people, the steak cooked exactly as we liked it and the service was great and really fast. I like the fact the room only had a small number of tables and you didn't get the feeling of being boxed in. I would recommend highly and will be going back in the near future!
lovely ambience.. food exceptional... service attentive. portions good. prices very reasonable. we enjoyed ourselves...very nice place..pipular but also intimate and fun. staff nice...thank you very much
I have to say the Great Reviews for this Restaurant are totally justified !! Ignore any negative ones, they are just picky unpleasable people :) The booking system on line is brilliant !! through Quandoo, never used this before but I've now signed up as this is an excellent service ! The Cowshed is split over a few floors, we had the downstairs and our own booth. We had the Greedy Cow and shared it, didn't think we could finish it but actually did it easily. I have to say this is one of the best meals I have every had, hands down. The Steaks were done to perfection, we opted for Medium Rare. The sides were also perfect, we had pepper corn and mushroom sauce. Both were brilliant but I was surprised, the mushroom was out of this world ! the staff were super friendly and really looked like they enjoyed themselves. I've already been shouting about this place to all my friends and wouldn't hesitate recommending it. They have a small menu, but anybody who knows about food knows that this is good, it means they concentrate on doing what they do so well. If your not a steak lover then this isn't the place for you, but if you are this needs to be at the top of your list !! Had a great bottle of shiraz too. The prises are very good for the quality of the food and the level of service. Genuinely give this 5 of 5, the place is awesome, a little quirky but in a good way, different to all those boring restaurant setups, funky music and great atmosphere. I will being going back lots of times !! enjoy :)
A very pleasant experience as soon as we walked through the door. We were greeted by the very friendly server who showed us to our table. The restaurant is situated in an old type house not far from The Ropewalks area of the city. It is a very quirky restaurant which adds to the experience. The food was delicious, especially the steaks which just melted in the mouth. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for quality of food, service and price. I will be visiting Cowshed again for sure.
Absolutely loved my experience at The Cowshed. The food was superb, as one would hope, but what made it special was the very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive staff. I'm sorry I didn't ask the server's name but she was brilliant. I also have to commend the music selection it was great. I totally recommend this restaurant and will be doing so on tripadvisor. Thank you so much.
First visit to the Cowshed in Liverpool this evening, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it, food was excellent, nice starters, then I had the rib-eye and my wife had the rump, both were cooked perfectly, lovely atmosphere and staff were very friendly. Have booked to go again in a couple of weeks for my wife's birthday. I would highly recommend it.
Everything at Cowshed was perfect! Me and my bf came in for date night and from start to finish the experience was great! Staff were very friendly and attentive and the steak was excellent! We were recommended the mushroom sauce by our waiter and didn't regret getting it - it was to die for! We will definitely be coming back.
Wow! Genuinely gorgeous little place, so homely and staff were very very friendly! We had bread for starters which was lovely warm and crisp, with balsamic oil and thyme butter, lovely! But the steak, omg! We got the greedy cow between me and my wife, it was absolutely divine, all 3 steaks just melted in our mouths! With chips and garlic mushrooms, as if that wasn't good enough, the pepper sauce was delicious! Our desserts were amazing too! Red velvet cheesecake with berry compote, it was heaven! The wife got apple and raspberry tartlet which she said was great! Overall an awesome place very relaxed with amazing food and great service, genuine 10/10 will be coming back very soon 👍🏻
Excellent service . Me & my partner went for the Special steak with noodles which hit the taste buds with lovely flavours with a kick from some of the spices ...We finished off with the Cheese board & again a nice variety of Cheese with a black charcoal & blue stilton with grapes & celery .. Overall from start to finish - Faultless . If I ad to fault a touch expensive with the Special £ 18 but u pay for Quality ..I would defo go back for a 2nd visit ..
excellent service with friendly and helpful staff offering advice on how the steak is best cooked and refusing to do well done which is great ....food delicous especially the special which was amazing .... the other diners in our group said the food was that nice they could easily eat it again.... great value for money we had one special and three rump with four sides and sauces plus cocktails and a bottle of prosecco and the final bill came to just around 40 per person..... will be coming again 10/10
We had a lovely time at the Cowshed. The place is cool and cosy and the food was absolutely delicious! The service was great and their prices are very reasonable. If you are in Liverpool you must pay them a visit!
Cowshed was excellent! The rib eye steak was delicious and really great quality, as well as the sides mushrooms with truffle! We enjoyed the bottle of red from portugal too and overall the atmosphere, the staff etc was fabulous! Highly recommend!
Lovely people running and waiting on, nice atmosphere. Four of us went so we ordered two specials (sirloin steak with mashed potatoes, a nice sauce and spring roll), a rump steak with eggs & waffles plus garlic mushrooms and I had the flat iron steak with chips and mushrooms. All of the meals were cooked to perfection except for the flat iron. I had never had this cut before and wanted to try it as it was advertised as "tender and flavoursome". Unfortunately the steak was tough and, probably due to this, the flavour didn't come through at all. Took the meat home and is now shared between our two dogs. Pity really. Please note - this will not stop us going again and we did not pay for the flat iron (didn't need to ask just came off the bill with apologies). I'm sure that had I mentioned the tough steak earlier it would have been replaced, my own fault.
This restaurant is a simply must try place if you love great steaks, I love my steaks and have to say this is the best steak I've had in a few years. The starters are lovely especially the croquettes, the best asian on my opinion is the mushroom one, I've had a few of them and that's the nicest. You have to get the waffles and eggs as a side, sounds simple but is an amazing side to your steak.
A really great experience. A very homely feel, with the small dining rooms. Only 5 tables in the room we were in. The waiting staff were chatty and very friendly, and the steak was to die for. A perfect cut, I chose medium rare but so juicy and soft. Not tough at all. The pudding was also really nice. As a bloke, I did go for 2 sides along with the meal, and that was doable with pudding and a pint for the portion sizes. I'd thoroughly recommend it if you like steak!
Me and my wife had the greedy cow.and some cocktails and although we splurged a bit I feel it was well worth it. The cuts all.tasted different and the bernaise sauce was incredible. I had a few gristly bits in the ribeye but you expect that with that particular cut - the flat iron is great (so buttery). Service was great and music was defo to my taste (rock & 90s indie). Thanks for a great meal
The staff were superb, atmosphere was quiet (just what we wanted). On viewing the menu I thought the starter selections were limited. 3 people decided to go with the special of fillet steak. I decided to have the ribeye and flat iron steaks together. The steak were cooked superbly. The fillet steak was £25, my ribeye and flat iron was £24 combined. I would have preferred a bigger ribeye for £25 and not had to have the flat iron steak. All in all the food was excellent and we will return.
Had a lovely meal at Cowshed. My boyfriend and I shared the 'Greedy Cow', all the steak was cooked beautifully. The only downside is that as it is split off into smaller rooms, staff aren't always around so can sometimes be hard to get attention.
