More about Customs House Hotel, Hobart CBD

One of the oldest hotels in Hobart, Customs House Hotel is a local favorite, located on Murray Street in the CBD and boasting a cosy ambience, with stone walls and indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Champions of local produce, Customs House Hotel buy their fish fresh from the fishermen on Constitution Dock, while the scallops and mussels are from Triabunna on Tasmania’s East Coast and the meat is sourced by the butcher from the best Tasmanian grain-fed cattle. With breakfast, lunch and dinner menus available, as well as some light bar snacks, Customs House Hotel is popular at all times of the day.

Customs House Hotel are well known for their quality seafood, so we recommend starting off your meal with the seafood sharing platter (balsamic oysters, kilpatrick scallops, salt & pepper squid and cider mussels served with a side of toasted Turkish bread). Then, move on to some marinated wallaby fillet served with smashed potato, oven roasted vegetables and onion jam, the chicken schnitzel, veggie curry or the locally-caught market fish which comes herb crusted and served with new season potatoes, tomato pesto, fresh tomato, baby spinach and asparagus spears. Combining the charm of an old-fashioned pub with a menu of quality cuisine, this award-winning restaurant in the CBD is a favourite among Hobart locals.
