Danfe Himal in the heart of Sandringham is an Indian restaurant where the food and the cosiness go together just right. The most careful attention to detail goes into every dish here, whether it’s an Indian curry house classic, a Danfe Himal signature or indeed one of the few Nepalese-style delicacies on the menu. Then, the restaurant itself is completely charming, with a warm welcome from the staff guaranteed. You’ll find Danfe Himal on Station Street, meaning it’s right by Sandringham station and very easy to access no matter where you’re coming from in Melbourne. For some of the best Indian food in the neighbourhood, a reservation here is all you need.

Danfe Himal had great reviews, so I was surprised to find we were the only patrons in the restaurant, the service was great but then that's to be expected when you're the only customers, maybe its different when/if the restaurant is busy... Unfortunately very little atmosphere, felt like a diner (and cold!!!), more than a restaurant. Whilst the entrée's were fresh and hot, the mains were rather bland. Despite the restaurant looking clean, little fruit fly bugs kept making their way over to our table- I'd be curious how clean the kitchen is :( Price was very reasonable. I'd try the food again, but take away, not dine in.
Always great food, good value and friendly service in this Nepalese restaurant. Favourite dish is the Eggplant Masala, and the Nepali Fish Curry was also delicious!
