Great place. Love it but booking reservation through here didnt work.. i had confirmation email but no table reserved for 8 ppl. Lucky i got there early and managed to get a table that just left.
This restaurant should have a big Self Service sign posted outside. As others have said, if you get seated upstairs you will be fetching everything other than what sits on an actual food plate. There's a large chance you will, as reservations are put upstairs (walk-ins get downstairs, where the live music is ... ). So double whammy. Staff will be walking around, but if you ask them for cutlery, or plates to share a pizza then they'll airily tell you 'they're over there' or 'they're downstairs' (even if they are actually upstairs). Do not expect the slightest bit of actual help. And yes you need to traipse downstairs to order your meal, order and collect drinks, etc. etc. ... you got it. Food itself is OK, but a restricted menu. Really, snacks and finger food. It's a bar that serves food, not a restaurant, in other words. If you want normal restaurant entrees and mains, look elsewhere.
Sydney locals flock to Deck Bar & Dining in Dee Why for the restaurant’s daily specials – Taco Tuesdays, discounted wings on Wednesdays, 2 for 1 pizzas on Thursdays, Friday dumpling specials and Sunday roasts – and chilled-out atmosphere. The bar is famous for their signature cocktails like the Calm Like A Bomb, a whiskey drink stirred with lemon simple syrup and chamomile tea foam, or the Bloody Maria, Deck’s take on the classic Bloody Mary garnished with crispy bacon (yes, bacon!).
The sharing plates at Deck Bar & Dining are the talk of Dee Why, with plenty of options for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. The seafood tasting plate is a fresh and flavourful choice, complete with crispy fried prawns, sesame goma grilled salmon, salt & pepper squid plus lemon dipping sauce and poblano chili aioli for dipping. As for mains, there’s a whole lot of Mexican flavour going on – decide from an array of burritos, fajitas, quesadillas and nachos. There’s plenty of burgers, pizzas, salads, desserts and even great kids’ meals to keep the whole family satisfied. Deck Bar & Dining on The Strand is one happy place, but you’ll be disappointed if you don’t book ahead!
