In partnership with restaurant reservation platform Quandoo, leading Sydney eatery Firedoor is excited to announce their second Fireside event of 2020.
Hosted on March 15th, the exciting event will be a Filipino-style Sunday lunch featuring internationally renowned chef Margarita Forés who will fly to Sydney to unite with Firedoor’s head chef Lennox Hastie. The one-off event will celebrate both chefs’ unique approach to food and fuse together their innovative ideas, techniques and fire-powered flavours. Much like Australia’s dining scene, Filipino cuisine is a profound melting pot of flavours based on its rich history and cultural diversity. With this in mind, guests of the special Fireside event can expect a distinctive menu that highlights both culinary collaboration between two gifted chefs and above all a high-quality dining experience.

The food served by Lennox and Margarita was quite tasty and luscious. It was our first time at Firedoor and we loved the atmosphere so we're going back.
We had a great time trying out the fusion of 2 great chefs! What was more interesting is that we were seated right infront of the kitchen so we were able to see how they cooked and plated the dishes. Flavours were amazing and I couldn’t be any more prouder of my roots. Over all service was great too as we really enjoyed it!
Named Asia’s best female chef in 2016 by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, Forés is a pioneer in the Philippines culinary community. After an extensive period of cooking in Italy, Forés applied her understanding and experience with Italian food to her country’s own cuisine, quickly establishing herself as a chef with vision and passion. Now with leading eateries such as Cibo, Lusso and farm-to-table Grace Park, Forés’ restaurants are spaces where she can share the richness of Filipino cuisine with diners, showcasing both its unique produce and traditions to the rest of the world.
Thanks to Quandoo, Forés and her team will be making the trip from Manila to Sydney especially for the event. As part of the collaboration, she will arrive a few days before the Sunday lunch to visit Firedoor and explore the diversity of Australian ingredients.
