Groove Train’s been in the game for quite some time now, and it doesn’t look like the restaurant will be calling it quits anytime soon. Something of a legend in Melbourne and throughout eastern Australia, the restaurant continues to serve up its premium international eats, ranging from wood-fired pizzas to Southeast Asian curries. Breakfast is one of the restaurant’s busiest times, thanks to their incredible selection of early-bird eats. Satisfy your sweet tooth with an order of fresh fruit salad or French toast (with icing sugar, maple syrup and cinnamon), or go savoury with the High Riser omelette – choose four fillings from options like smoked ham, bacon, Danish feta, mushrooms, chorizo, capsicum and several others – and the baked beans on sourdough toast. Energise yourself by ordering a cup or two of Groove Train’s very own coffee blend, Groove Press, which contains hints of milk chocolate and honey flavours. The Geelong outlet at Westfield Geelong Shopping Centre (on Yarra Street) features a children’s menu, too, so bring along the kiddies for a tasty breakfast.

Big appetites have plenty of options here – the Moroccan lamb ragout with saffron rice, the 350g char-grilled rib eye steak, the fettucine carbonara or the spaghetti alla Groove, complete with chicken, spring onion, cream, basil pesto, Napoli sauce and avocado. Vegetarians love the restaurant's many meat-free items, including the veggie wok-fried Hokkien noodles, the delicious veggie burger and the polenta & roasted vegetable stack.
