About Hikaru Ramen

Bringing a touch of flair, plenty of variety and oodles of noodle varieties to Perth’s casual Japanese dining scene, Hikaru Ramen is one of the best places to target for satisfying noodle soups or donburi in the Perth CBD. Found at St Martins Centre on St Georges Terrace, Hikaru Ramen delivers on the eponymous ramen promise multiple times over – 12 times, to be precise, because that’s the number of tasty noodle soup flavours they offer, from tatsuta chicken ramen to spicy pork udon, chicken & prawn tanmen to teriyaki somen. Hikaru Ramen also have a range of popular donburi rice bowls, with the buta kakuni (braised teriyaki pork belly) and sudori (Japanese-style sweet & sour chicken) being our particular favourites. Hikaru Ramen is a very popular Perth CBD lunch spot, and it’s often full in the evenings too, so table bookings are advised at all times!

My first experience at Hikaru Ramen a few months ago was such a hit that I was raving about it to everyone. When I came back recently the menu had been cut short and even though a few things were no longer available, tonkotsu ramen remained. I remember the broth was much more intense and full-bodied back then. This time round it was still thick and blessed with a nice pork bone flavour but something was missing, as if it wasn't cooked long enough. With that said it's still 1 of the better tonkotsu broths around Perth. Considering the location and quantity, pricing is super reasonable, especially when your ramen comes with 3 slices of chashu.

As well as a great selection of fresh sushi, there's also a variety of interesting ramen noodle, rice or rice and egg cooked dishes. Will be going there again.

Delicious ramen! 4 of us ordered 4 different types and we all enjoyed them. The tonkotsu broth especially was rich in flavour and perfectly seasoned. Will definitely return!
