They had organised a lovely space for us to sit. Enough room for everyone to sit comfortably but still close enough to chat. Wonderfull decorated space and the food was wonderful!
We had a superb dining experience at Holla Food and Drink with my cousins from the UK and two of our adult sons. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, the service prompt and attentive and the food was delicious. We had the shared plate menu which consisted of 8 share plates of well-cooked and well-presented food. The plates arrived at our pace and were of just the right quantity. We would thoroughly recommend it and will certainly visit again.
The menu is quite exciting with many unusual dishes and combination of ingredients. We had a degustation menu and enjoyed the variety of flavours immensely. Great new addition to Victoria Street.
Fantastic food. Very innovative and delicious. Loved the tapa concept as got to experience different dishes. Service was impeccable too. Great experience would certainly go again.
VERY impressive all around ..... Holla Holla .... Not often I stumbled upon a restaurant that can do breakfast, lunch and dinner well. This medium size establishment along Victoria St, Richmond, Melbourne is just that. By location it's unexpected, as it stand on the esplanade of Melbournes Pho's & Vietnamese food centrum. I must say it's a welcome addition, exceptionally challenging to find a great coffee along this esplanade. An "arty" kinda breakfast & lunch, taste, balance and fantastic presentation - "excelente", we've tried nearly all on the Menu - see photos. Had one of the "hottest" chilli sauce so far ..... insanity. I shouldn't add it as it ruined my Salmon and Rosti, MY MISTAKE, it should go on a burger .... :-) It was a scrumptious, yummy "omakasen" (let the chef cook) Dinner menu. Fresh oysters Sardines on toast with smoked butter and green tomato salsa Housemade pork belly sausage roll with bush tomato ketchup and romesco mayonnaise 450g Porterhouse steak Duck fat roast chat potatoes Radicchio salad with pecorino vinaigrette Cheese plater Just a note to the Chef ..... an interesting Pork belly sausage roll, but I would leave Pork Belly "shape" the way it is :-) Leave the Pork Belly alone ....... don't want to create an uproar with 1,3 billion Chinese. I thank them for allowing us to drink our 2006 Katnook Coonawarra Cab Sauv that was "aired" earlier at home, even at a discouraging corkage charge of $40, it was needed for that Med-rare aged Porterhouse ..... match made in heaven somewhere. They do have some older wines, I think it was a 2009. The only suggestion that I would make, coffee; Rosso is okay but not there yet and not to wear your baseball cap while serving, although it's probably cool, Mama said it's rude. SAT 29/10/2016 Big Breakfast was spot on and med-rare Porterhouse just a tad over-cooked, but good. Please add a bit more than just hand-cut chips and salsa sauce, which did't go well with the Steak, grilled big mushroom, hot mustard sauce perhaps. Coffee and Pinot Noir were perfect companion. Much enjoyable SAT brunch. Thank you.
Such a great space, with amazing food and cocktails! The staff know what they're talking about and were genuinely helpful and interested in finding the right dishes, whiskeys, etc, for us when we asked for tips on the menu. Each dish was beautiful and balanced – would recommend the kingfish sashimi, the roasted winter veg, the ribeye (simple and great), the radicchio salad, the Dutch carrots, and the homemade ice-cream. Not huge portions but we walked out happy and sated, and not uncomfortably full. So nice to have this in the area!
We went for the feed me option which was good. We had the fish instead of the steak. An extra bowl of salad was served which was not needed, would have been better if it had been another vegetable. The dessert was a cheese platter which was very mean on cheese, just one piece. I really think you need at least 3 types. I would go for the a la cart option next time. Good food and service and wouldn't hesitate to go back again.
We had a great night at Holla with the 4 of us sharing some high-quality and very tasty entrees and mains between the four of us. The selection of wines is also well worth a visit. The service and the ambience of the restaurant was also very refreshing. Well worth a visit if you haven't been.
Great open venue with a good view of the bar and kitchen. Comfy chairs and large tables that are spaced well so you don't feel like you're on top of your neighbours. Drinks were great - Texas in July is AMAZING - if you love an Old Fashioned, get onto this!!! We picked a few different smalls and sides - beautifully presented and tasty.
Very good. food was high standard. well presented and cooked just right. Dumplings soft and tasty, beef cooked perfectly and moist. Excellent home made ice cream. Holla had a Nice variation on offer with staff who were attentive yet not overbearing. One of the better places we have been in the last 12months without doubt.
