House of Fish in Kareela Village know what punters are expecting and they know how to deliver. As the name suggests, this restaurant on Freya Street makes no bones about it: they give you seafood. Fish or scallops, squid and mussels, fresh or cooked, even. It’s an unwavering dedication to the quality of Australian seafood and they execute it impressively. With a growing reputation around Sydney’s southern suburbs, House of Fish draws in diners with the promise of top-shelf seafood any style – still-wet Pacific oysters, half-shell scallops jazzed up with garlic butter, grilled prawns, succulent salmon and on and on to things like seafood paella and chilli-infused fish and chips. Creativity is let loose at times while at others time-tested favourites are relied upon. Whatever you’re looking for, if it’s of the fishy variety then House of Fish should be top of your list in south Sydney.
