Situated on Swan Street, Jai Ho Richmond has been serving up Indian favourites to the hungry people of Melbourne for four years, and has a reputation that continues to grow exponentially. With a prime position on the main drag through Richmond, just 15 minutes walk from both the MCG and AAMI Park, Jai Ho is the perfect place to drop in after a game for essential stomach-lining and satisfying curries, grilled meats and vegetarian dishes, all packed with the spices of India.
A most enjoyable evening with good service and interesting very tasty food. Good service and value.
Overall it was good.food was worth the money.Staff was very gentle and ready to serve.
Very tasty food. Great prices and generous portions. The mixed entree was huge. Had the beef with eggplant, very tender, not to hot but beautiful spice balance. Lamb Biryani had lovely slivers if tender, spiced lamb through the perfectly cooked rice. The Lychee fizz was perfect to drink with dinner. Will return.
There are restaurants in Melbourne that would kill for the location that Jai Ho Richmond enjoys. In the centre of the Swan Street restaurant district, and just a short walk from the MCG and AAMI Park, there is passing trade aplenty, and Jai Ho does not let the diners of Melbourne down. Offering dishes which cater to both Aussie tastes and authentic Indian standards, the menu features a full repertoire of appetizers, curries, veggie options and sides.
Begin with a selection of classic Indian starters – samosas, seekh kebabs and pakoras – whilst sharing poppadoms, before moving onto the extensive curry options. Choose from Melbourne family favourites such as lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka masala and beef madras, or pick something more exotic, such as the chef’s speciality of Jai Ho murg kali mirch, a North Indian delicacy featuring chicken on the bone cooked with fresh black pepper. At this Swan Street establishment, you can find something that the whole family can enjoy – but make sure you book a table, as Richmond’s discerning diners flock to Jai Ho Richmond in big numbers.
