Kagu Ra Zaka’s culinary expertise are to be had just moments from South Yarra station along Toorak Road. Just look for the paper lanterns on the corner with Forster Street. Once inside this renowned but affordable Melbourne Japanese restaurant you’ll be treated with the utmost courtesy, and able to choose from the full spectrum of traditional Japanese cuisine – entrees and soups, sushi and sashimi, classic main courses, rice and noodle dishes, and desserts. There are also fantastic banqueting options that really showcase the skill of head chef Jack Itou, who has appeared on Japanese cooking shows, cookbooks and magazines for over 25 years. Go for the Zaka banquet and indulge in a combination of sushi and sashimi, deep fried oysters with a Japanese barbecue sauce, baked scallops with sweet miso sauce, sukiyaki hot pot with porterhouse steak, veggies and udon, and deep fried banana wrapped in filo pastry to finish.
All to our liking will be back. Staff very attentive, food good, hot where required. Value for money. Had lunch special would recommend either choices
