Before Kwan’s Table opened on Inkerman Street, the people of St Kilda may have gone their entire life wondering whether it was ever possible to combine the colours, flavours and zing of Thai food with the high-wire skill of French patissiers and the comfort of a Melbourne-level cafe, to create something greater than the sum of its strong parts. Now they know. Kwan’s Table is impossible to describe in a few lines, so please just try it out. Meals are exquisite – well presented and bursting with flavour, the coming together of Thai tastes and cafe comfort, perhaps best illustrated by their popular soft shell crab brioche burger.
