Lapstone Hotel in Blaxland is one of our favourite casual dining spots around the Blue Martins. It serves food that warms the heart in surrounds that are simple but stylish. What could be better than that? You’ll find Lapstone Hotel Blaxland right on Great Western Highway (meaning it’s easy to find even if you’re coming all the way from Sydney) and from the menu you can expect Australian pub-style fare along with homemade, wood fired pizzas, burgers and a few pasta dishes. Throw in a well-stocked bar and it’s not hard to see why Blaxland locals rate Lapstone Hotel so highly. Reservations are always a good idea, particularly at weekends.

Lapstone Hotel Blaxland is the kind of joint that Australians love because it’s no-frills yet still stylish and plenty of quality food and drink. It also has the added benefit of being surrounded by lush greenery owing to its location on Great Western Highway right on the edge of the Blue Mountains, meaning there’s very little not to love. If there’s a group of you stopping by for a big feed then why not share a few wood fired pizzas around the table? The sweet potato pizza with a pesto base goes down very well indeed, as does the tandoori chicken with mango chutney base and a drizzle of fresh mint yoghurt.
If, however, your occasion at Lapstone Hotel Blaxland is more a three-course kind of affair, consider the soup of the day or some classic salt & pepper squid. Follow either of those up with the pot pie of the day or the fish of the day – there’s a pattern emerging here, as you can see – or a premium steak.
