About Lemon Tree

We know what you might be thinking – ‘Just another lemon tree’ – but no, Lemon Tree in southeast London’s Sydenham is an Indian restaurant with a difference. Dine in comfort in Lemon Tree’s Sydenham Road restaurant with ambient lighting and comfortable chair and table arrangements, dive head first into the incredibly affordable buffet lunch on Sundays, the Wednesday banquet nights, and the Friday and Saturday evening family deal, where kids under ten eat for free! House specialties include the samlo, king prawn, or mixed shashlik, tandoori-baked garlic and chilli chicken, the lamb chop achari, and the special boneless chicken tikka masala – prepared to Lemon Tree’s own secret recipe. Perhaps the most appropriate signature dish on offer, however, is the zamiri or orange chicken – cooked with whole orange for a tangy flavour.

Good food. Good value. Service a little haphazard. It would benefit the restaurant greatly if the waiters simply remembered who ordered what rather than shouting the names of dishes along the table. A change of cutlery perhaps between courses. And refill wine glasses. Small things that would make the experience more enjoyable. Like I said food was good and I guess that's the most important.

The food good and tasty - as their takeaway is. Not quite a 5 as the buffet lunch choice turned out to be rather limited.
