When you sit down to a dish at Little Billy, you get the feeling you’re eating somewhere that thinks a bit outside the box. The names are familiar – Thai beef salad, cheeseburger, open lamb souvlaki, steak sandwich and the like – but there are a few hints that this suave cafe on William Street in Melbourne’s CBD take standard cafe menus not as a guide but as an invitation to create and innovate. At Little Billy, the starkest point of difference from other Melbourne cafes is the ingredients – a dedication to paddock-to-table eating sees some of the brightest, freshest, most flavoursome and healthy local produce appearing on the plate.
Still, anybody in Melbourne can throw a bunch of quality ingredients on a plate, but Little Billy even do this part with style. The presentation is superb, and with the sleek interior design and refined atmosphere of this William Street space Little Billy could just as well suit an important business lunch in the CBD as it could a casual cafe brunch. Besides choosing what to eat from among the slew of photo-worthy and mouthwatering options, the hardest thing about Little Billy is catching them at a quiet time, so reservations are strongly advised at all times.
Little Billy is great value, friendly staff and quick service. Love the express lunch options. Good atmosphere too, reasonably new with funky, modern décor. Will dine there again.
It was overall pleasant experience as staffs are really nice and helpful. Food was as usual can't fault. The smile on the staffs faces made the lunch experience extraordinary.
Wonderful food and service. We shared 3 entries as a lunch. The duck was amazing, cheese croquettes delicious and the calamari was very salt and pepper. Highly recommend
Amazing coffee . Great place to catch up with friends or go for a bite to eat! The food was tasty and staff were very kind . Thanks Little Billy's
Better than expected. The portions were quite large. We ordered the calamari which was crunchy on the outside but still very tender inside, the marinated chicken salad was amazingly good, and salmon was cooked almost to perfection with a good sized portion of salad. It felt like we had 4 mains between the two of us.
Went for Friday lunch with work colleague. It was my first visit to Lt. Billy. To start, we've had to move our table in the corner as there was not much space to sit around it. The place was really busy so expected delays in service however we've had to wait for about 50 minutes with apologies from the staff before our simple lunch dishes (chicken parma and burger) had been served. Food was alright though. This place is not going to be on my favourites list.
Food was delicious. Had to get waitress attention to order but after that they were attentive. We had the express lunch and we had enough time in an hour to order, eat the meal with a bit of chat time left over.
Great food but we went on a Sat night and it felt like we we're being rushed out. Probably better for a lunch or quick dinner. I'd go back for the food but not somewhere if u have a bigger party of people and want to chat and drink.
We were promptly seated, friendly & attentive staff. Bit of a wait for food but it was peak lunch time so not that uncommon. Food was great? I'd go back.
A nice casual yet sleek eatery in the western end of the CBD. Would be great for casual lunches / coffees during the week if you work in the surrounding area. Also very good for a quiet and cosy brunch/lunch on the weekend.
We arrived one hour before scheduled reservation and was welcomed into the spacious and modern restaurant. Nice decor and very modern menu. There's ample selection of breakfast and lunch menu.
Great food and great service. A nice surprise for a place that we hadn't been too before. Good value for the large meals you get. We'll be back 😊
We've been here a few times for work lunches, and the experience has always been a positive one. Food's great, decor's very cool and service is pretty efficient
Excellent food, great service, fantastic location! Souvlaki is particularly good, though I've never had a bad thing on the menu. Most definitely worth a visit.
A great lunch spot for a casual business lunch or lunch with friends. Good for group bookings too. Located close to the courts as well.
Burger ordered was quite dry but other meals good - busy but atmosphere and service was also good. enjoyable for a quick meal - try again
The food was very nice. The service at little Billy was also quote good. The menu here is varied and caters for those with allergies
The restaurant was fine, even though they were definitely short staffed the young man on the floor was really good. The food was good not a great menu but fine.
Mediocre food and service. Worst hand cut chips we have ever had - soggy and greasy. Would not go back. Nice decor it was quiet for a Saturday night
Disappointing duck salad special, didn't take plates when finished and didn't offer coffees or other drinks. Feedback given to the manager upon leaving and apology given.
Bland mass produced food, very loud and noisy space, service staff trying their best but not enough of them. Maybe good for a coffee in the front section but no good for lunch.
