The wood-fired oven is a staple of any self-respecting pizza place, and at Madison’s Woodfire Cafe in Westmeadows they’ve got one of the best around. The Italian fare on offer at this Fawkner Street favourite is based on traditional dishes, cooked well. They boast an array of pizzas that showcase the worth of the eponymous oven as well as pastas, risottos and a few Aussie favourites to boot. The drinks aren’t too shabby either: a full Italian coffee selection, of course, as well as beers and wines. Visitors to Madison’s on Fawkner Street in Melbourne’s far north – right by the airport in Westmeadows – will not be disappointed by the range of Italian and international classics which, when done right, take some serious beating. Book a table and decide for yourself.
No matter what time you decide to pop into Madison’s Woodfire Cafe on Fawkner Street in Westmeadows, you’re bound to be happy with what you find. This multi-functional venue morphs from cosy cafe with great morning coffee (as solid as you’ll find around Melbourne’s outer northern suburbs) to beautiful brunch spot and elegant lunchtime eatery, from authentic Italian restaurant to cool live music venue as the sun goes down (be sure to book on these nights, because it’s rare to see tables unaccounted for).
Breakfast favourites for the Fawkner Street faithful include Tahlia’s bacon and scrambled egg wrap or the super healthy and even tastier Green Breakfast Bowl (quinoa, feta, homemade dukkha and soft poached eggs on a bed of spinach and kale), but the real trump card Madison’s Woodfire Cafe holds over other Westmeadows eateries is enticing, authentic Italian offerings. For lunch, try the tasty grilled vegetable focaccia with Napoli sauce, or go the whole hog for dinner with Italian antipasto, eggplant chips, calamari, a host of vibrant salads, hearty pasta dishes and of course those unbeatable woodfired pizzas. If you’re looking for a casual but satisfying spot for a social gathering in this part of Melbourne, Madison’s is a great pick.
I have a pepper allergy and Madisons’s go out of their way to make sure I’m looked after!!! We go at least twice a month.... good value and great food 🥘
The Food was delicious and it was well cooked and filling , and we got service with a smile. What else could you ask for .
Food was yummy 😋, service was friendly and welcoming, nice meal 🥘 the grilled fish & chips were great. Thankyou will see you again soon.
This was the first time I used Quandoo and it worked a dream. Madison's Woodfire Cafe is more like a restaurant, the food is always very good, its probably the best calamari in Melbourne, consistently beautifully presented and served by the happiest person I have seen for months.
Food and service was great ...my only issue was that the air conditioners weren't working on a very hot day (staff said they were going to be fixed). But having the fans going and open windows did make it OK.
Friendly family atmosphere ,lovely food ,fantastic service highly recommend to others really enjoyed the experience .mediteranean,Italian or Greek food served. We had calamari and Pumpkin and spinach risotto and it was yummy
It’s ok for what it is. Food is reasonable but overpriced for what they serve. If a pizza costs the same as more boutique restaurants but isn’t near the same quality it should be cheaper or Madison’s should lift its standard to justify it.
As always the meals were delish. Staff complained about the heat and were not happy with that. They asked for the airconditioning to be turned on. Your staff member said they weren't working. one of my staff said, she could have told us that and apologized at the start. They voted, not to stay the remaining hour and asked to go back to work, to get cool. I personally didn't mind, these things happen. Kind regards Suzanne
It was just nice to have space and room on a table for 4 was just right and we all enjoyed our meals at a place stashed away in Westmeadows
Service was unorganised and food was just OK. I think they need to employ more experienced staff as most of the staff on the morning we went looked very young. Not a bad experience but not great.
