A lush spot complete with sunny beer garden and a swish interior, Magellan’s location on the corner of Pyrmont Street and Union Street is ideal for lunch, dinner, or some simple relaxation with a glass of the restaurant and bar’s long list of wine, Portuguese varieties included.

The ultimate lunchtime bite at this Sydney restaurant has to be the Portuguese rump steak with a white wine and garlic jus, or the whole, half or quarter chicken prepared the traditional Portuguese way. Another approach to Magellan’s considered offering is to simply order from their long tapas menu and share a number of small plates across the table with friends. Alternatively, head to Magellan’s central Pyrmont restaurant come the evening and find yourself some of Sydney’s best specialist Portuguese cuisine in the form of the highly recommended Portuguese espetada skewer with beef, chicken or lamb, marinated in rock salt, garlic and bay leaves and chargrilled for mouthwatering flavour and tenderness.
