Indian restaurants are plentiful all over Australia, and those living down in Wollongong, Mango Tree Cafe & Restaurant is the place to go to pick up a fix of curry. Their menu is packed with favourites, with an authentic take on the taste of the subcontinent, from south Indian street food to Nepalese dumplings and pretty much everything in between. You can find them on Cliff Road in North Wollongong, and when you arrive, you’re going to want to start with something from the tandoor. Eskew the classics – though the seekh kebabs, paneer tikka and lamb cutlets are there – and go for the Tandoori Jumbo Quail, a rural speciality with freshly ground spices, topped with cheese and cooked in the clay oven. Follow it up with a prawn malabar, cooked in coconut milk, or a hearty lamb rogan josh, with fresh tomatoes and rich gravy. Gather up your mates and head on over to Mango Tree Cafe & Restaurant on the Cliff Road in the north of The Gong for a top-notch Indian feed.
Great location and views of North Beach, sitting on the outside terrace, the service was good and the food turned up quickly, Food was very good and fresh.
Great food and service, never fails to please. The view over the ocean is amazing too. We started with the Mango Tree Veg Platter (for 2) and I got the Butter Paneer for main with some rice.
service was great, all round excellent, food beautiful, I would recommend the Mango Tree to everyone, out look was north beach in the warmer months the scenery would be lovely
As usual delicious food and drinks. A slight mix-up with booking due to last minute online booking however they found us a table quickly. Food arrived very quickly.
Great food anf friendly staff. Would have been nice to have our water topped up. Was also asked 4 times whether we were done when we were still grazing over what was left... twice would have been plenty. I also think they should remove the TV and replace it with an artwork
A great restaurant with amazing food. Awesome location. Food service and time from the kitchen was also great the only thing I would suggest would be a little more training with wait staff to correct the wrong orders from table to kitchen. Overall an awesome place
Because of illness we had to cancel our reservation, which was handled efficiently. We have enjoyed the Restaurant in the past, and I am sure that we will book again in the near future
It was ok, the view and the company were nice. A family owned business. Felt a little like we were intruding on their family conversations. The food was lovely, the female waitress was lovely. Gin and tonic served with no lemon. wine very skimpy. Was more like a small Indian cafe in a shopping centre.
Mango Tree is a guaranteed excellent meal. The staff are well trained in public relations and hospitality and always ensure a night to remember. The location is one of the best in Wollongong.
Great value for money. We found the food great, lovely taste and quality, service was good. I would recommend this restaurant to any one who likes indian food.
