Mum's Table

If you’re hoping to find a place in Surry Hills where you can find what you’d expect to be dished up on your Mum’s Table – don’t go to Mum’s Table on Elizabeth Street. Unless your mum happens to be an amazing Vietnamese cook who dishes up some of Sydney’s very very best banh mi, beef brisket soup and homemade rice paper rolls of a lunchtime. Not to mention an impressive evening menu featuring tasty treats like pork-stuffed chicken wings, prawn mousse on sugarcane and Vietnamese honey BBQ pork skewers to start with, then a range of main dishes to rival any of Sydney’s modern Vietnamese joints (we reckon the marinated chicken paw paw salad or pork and prawn banh xeo are hard to beat). Mum’s Table is funky and popular, so unless you really love waiting for tables it’s best to book ahead.
