Australian cuisine is the product of the many influences that have made Australia what it is today – people from all over the world, arriving in Melbourne with their diverse and unique food histories and contributing to the culinary scene. Niche on Bridge is right at the centre of this, with a menu that reflects their heritage in the Middle East, while also maintaining a contemporary Australian edge. Their menu reflects this perfectly: their breakfasts, for example, include the Aussie classics of bacon and eggs, but also the likes of dukkah, harissa yoghurt and Turkish bread. Add to this a wide range of Spanish ingredients such as chorizo, Italian dishes like pizza and and even a few Mexican specialities, from fajitas to huevos rancheros. You can visit them down on Bridge Road in Richmond – take the tram to Burnley St/Bridge Road – and make sure you book your table in advance, as they can get very busy.
Loved the food, Loved the service and loved the venue. We have been to Niche on a number of occasions and will keep coming back. Great way to spend a sunny Sunday lunch time.
It's a great local for casual meals. We always get excellent personal attention and they are happy to accommodate special requirements (eg coeliac sufferers) and other small changes to dishes.
Service and food was great! Waiter very attentive and the eye fillet steak just melted in your mouth. I Just would have liked the option of a chicken dish as a main course.
