Celebrating la cucina della nonna, Nonna and I is at once an homage to the culinary wisdom of Italy’s grandmothers, or nonne, and a top-notch destination for Norwood locals looking for an authentic, rusticated feed. You can find this palace of the bel paese down Margaret Street, a stone’s throw away from the local retail and dining street of The Parade, and next door to Nonna and I’s sibling pizzeria, Pizza Art and I. This Italian fusion cuisine reactor is a surefire winner for fans of sunkissed Mediterranean and European food in Adelaide, so be sure to book in advance.
At Nonna and I, classic Italian cuisine is getting a modern makeover down Norwood’s Margaret Street. The skill in the kitchen is consummate, with chef Khalil Rashwan bringing years of experience working – and learning from nonne – in New York’s Little Italy to Adelaide in a colourful riot of old-school nous and new-school innovation. From the USA to Malaysia and finally Australia, chef Rashwan has taken his skills all over the world, living out his childhood dream of becoming a world-renowned chef and honouring his grandmother in each and every dish.

Great atmosphere! Chef came out and chatted about the menu, made us feel very welcome. Had the special Beef Cheeks, just delicious! will definitely be going back to try more dishes on the menu. Good vegan menu too.
Wow.. The food was Great, well prepared, true authentic Italian taste .. Service was prompt and with a smile .. We will be back soon ..
Great vegan options but menu was not the same as what is online which was a bit dissapointing. However the meal i had was delicious and the owner makes you feel very welcomed. I enjoy eating here with my vegan and non vegan friends.
We had a faultless, delicious meal served by friendly and attentive staff. It was a thoroughly memorable evening. We will certainly be returning as well as recommending it to our family and friends.
After making a same-day online booking (very convenient), my adult children and I ate at Nonna and I on a Sunday evening. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and reasonably efficient in offering drinks and overall service. The food was very nice (we had the beef cheek, veal Milanese and penne a la salmon for mains and tiramisu and strawberry sorbet) and we had a very tasty and enjoyable evening. We were even provided with a very friendly visit from Khalil, the chef.
Beautiful little hidden gem in Norwood. Traditional Italian music playing in the background, a lovely and attentive waitress and a visit from the chef to say hello. A very large menu of mains, would of liked to see some of them as entrees as to try more of the menu in one setting though, lovely authentic, tasty Italian food. Good wine list and to finish off another visit from the chef to make sure we enjoyed everything. Will have to come back and bring my family. I expect would have to book for dinner as the restaurant is quite small ❤️❤️
This is our second visit to Nonna and I and we just love the food and intimate dining experience. The food is always well presented and full of Italian flavours that tantalise the taste buds. For an added experience you must try the olives for a starter they are to die for.
To start with the service was amazing, super friendly and warm. The food was truly incredible and everything tasted so fresh! They offer something for everyone. As a vegan I find it difficult to find really good Italian food, but they nailed it. I went with my family who are all meat eaters and they were thoroughly impressed as well, so would highly recommend to anyone and everyone!
I went to Nonna and I last friday for lunch with two of my friends. We all thought it was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed our lunch and the lovely service we received.
Nonna and I never disappoints. Staff are friendly and the chef, Khahil is often wandering the restaurant checking in on everyone. Food is excellent, we have never ordered something we didn't enjoy.
