Dear diners, if you’d like to book for groups of 20 or more, please contact the restaurant directly.
In addition, please note that same-day online reservations close at 3pm – if you need to make a reservation past this time please contact the restaurant directly. It’s no secret that everyone loves a good Irish pub, and PJ’s, located on Church Street, has become a fixture in the Parramatta area of Sydney since it opened all the way back in 1999. Whether its for some dinner, a few drinks or a night of debauchery, PJ’s is the place to go, serving up traditional Irish dishes alongside pub food favourites, as well as a lengthy list of cocktails, wine, beers and spirits. Book a table and head on over!
Start your meal at this Parramatta institution off with some deep-fried brie or grilled scallops before moving on to the main affair. Then, you could go for an old favourite like the beef burger, chicken schnitzel and beer-battered fish and chips or keep the tradition alive with a hearty Irish dish. We recommend the Irish stew (tender diced beef and lamb slow-cooked with potatoes and onion in a peppered broth with champ mash) or the steak and Guinness pie for a taste of Ireland in Sydney.
The cocktail menu over at Sydney’s PJ’s is equally as mouth-watering, with choices ranging from the classics to creative concoctions like the the Blushing Lady (pama pomegranate liqueur, Smirnoff green apple vodka, cranberry juice, vanilla syrup and lime juice) and the decadent Hazelnut Dream (Frangelico, Baileys, butterscotch schnapps and a touch of cream). Attracting Parramatta’s party animals seven days a week, PJ’s can get busy – guarantee a table at this Church Street hotspot by booking a table in advance.
Plan your parking unless you are meeting up with friends at a very quiet time. Parking stations in easy reach. Very friendly staff and the bistro does generous servings of high quality food. Good range of Aussie beers on tap.
A great pub. We sat in the restaurant section and had a wonderful evening, with friendly service, amazing food and a wonderful atmosphere. The food sizes are great and we left feeling stuffed. I would recommend the Guinness pie as it is amazing.
Very helpful and got in touch to ensure we got the best seat in the area we wanted to sit. Food was great and service was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back.
As soon as we step into the restaurant. We were greeted by a young girl with a big smile on her dace. although we were half an hour earlier. We still got a table straight away. This is something i had never before experienced. GREAT
The food: It was great and delicious The service: Staff are friendly in general However, No one were there to greet us or welcome us to be seated Although, It was not busy and most of the tables were empty We left the money on the table after waiting but no one came to collect it so we signed to the cashier that the payment left on the table The place: Good outdoor sitting, clean, we had privacy as well In general: It is clean, friendly service
Pj's placed us at an outside table on a 36 degree day - there were tables free inside. I had made a booking for this lunch the day before. We had to ask someone if we could move, and eventually we were moved after sweltering outside for 35 minutes. My colleagues and I often come here after work for dinner - so it was very disappointing. This booking was made for a department Christmas lunch - the Manager of our organisation clearly stated that we would not be coming back for any more work related functions. 2 stars as the food is generally good - but it still took and hour for the kitchen to serve our food. 2 of us received our mains 20 minutes before the rest of the party - so it was cold by the time everyone received their food. Pj's needs to lift their game. We have moved all of our other Christmas lunches / dinners for work at our other local pub due to this experience.
Great food and service we had a large group and were looked after well. Nice relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Trivia night was on, we were asked to join but our work weary minds were happy to chill and relax. We had a great night.
Food was great! Service is ok but overall it was surprisingly good. Nice little restaurant setting, very warm and welcoming, and excellent food. We had the lamb ribs, crispy skin salmon, and buttermilk fried chicken burger.
We were there but ate in the VIP lounge instead and found the meals were great etc but the Karaoke was really really annoying. We should have checked that before dining there as most of our party left after 1 hour of that.
Great atmosphere on a friday night after work. The food took abit of time but it was also a busy night so understandable. price is affordable and drinks are not overpriced either.
