Shish has stood on Halfway Street in the centre of Sidcup since 1993, but their tradition goes back much further than that. They stand in the shadows of hundreds of years of Ottoman and Turkish cuisine, and all the myriad dishes that that entails. It means mezzes to start – and they have the whole range, from hummus, halloumi, dolmades and more – and then a huge range of grilled meats to follow. Lamb comes as cutlets, ribs and kofte and chicken as grilled wings or kulbasti, but the real star of the show is the shish kebabs, which are marinated in spices and then cooked over charcoal in the time-honoured tradition. Throw in vegetarian favourites – falafel, moussaka, stuffed aubergines and potatoes – and grilled whole seabass and salmon fish dishes, and you’re well on the way to a great night out in Sidcup. Take the train to Sidcup or New Eltham train station (close to the University of Greenwich) and wander along Halfway Street to Shish for a great Turkish meal.

Absolutely gorgeous food and lovely service. Best calamari I have ever tasted and the mixed shish was juicy, the meat melted in your mouth- even the lamb was so tender. Highly recommended.
The food was great and the staff were super friendly and welcoming! Would definitely recommend and definitely go back again! It's my new favourite restaurant in my local area!
Lovely food, good service and great evening. The food is tasty and there is lots of choice. You get lots of salad and a choice of portion sizes.
Excellent food although a bit pricey. The lamb was particularly succulent, lean and cooked to perfection. The restaurant staff were efficient and helpful, all in all a pleasant dining experience.
Food was outstanding presentation and taste. . Service was a bit up and down nothing that could not be sorted. I would go again recommend any day.
Very good food and staff very friendly...would select individual starters next time as extensive choice available...totally recommend as a couple or group venue, will be going back
