Not worth the money and the Bamboo biryani was claimed to be made fresh but it was hardly hot. It felt like they had just taken it out of the refrigerator and heated it up for us. All the biryanis, Chicken, Prawn and Mutton tasted exactly the same with the only difference being the meat that was added. Sorry to say this, but I would definitely not go there again.

The familiar smell of spices, similar to a mamak shop. Service was good. Enjoyed the teh tarik. We had the banana leaf set . I would have liked the curry sauce punchier, with more spices. Good for hungry diners as rice is all you can eat. Will be back to try their biryani.

Nice ambiance of the restaurant, followed by warm attentive and friendly service, makes Spice Avenue a place I will definetly revisit and recommend to others. Love the food. My favourite is the Banana leaf rice with the addition of Fried Chicken & Fish.

Fried chicken was all bone and no meat. Egg plant and potatoes were cold and tasteless. Beef curry puffs were awful and filling was watery.

Good authentic Malaysian food. Banana leaf rice is recommended and make sure you are hungry as it is huge. Do try the appam as dessert as well

The food was very good with good serves and very fast food. However the service was very slow. Not sure I would go again given we drive 45 mins

The banana leaf rice, goat parratil and kuih dadar were all just like what you get back home, highly recommended! Service was a little slow, but i think its because they were making most dishes fresh and they are still working out their rhythm. Staff were friendly, so made up for it. Will definitely be back

Normally I do not submit bad reviews for restaurants, because I usually concede that it may just have been a one off bad night. As a result, I just make a decision never to return and leave it at that. But sometimes I feel something needs to be said, and this is the case here. I have given Spice Av. a rating of one, simply because there is no lower rating on the scale, this being after consultation with my dining companions, four of us in all. Service was well below standard. For example, when the waiter appeared for our orders, we asked for a few more minutes as we had not decided, so he left ... for 25 minutes, only to return, somewhat grudgingly, only after we had to summon him to return. The order included a mixed entrée platter which then arrived with one persons' main ... we then waited ages for two more mains to appear, some 5 minutes apart. When we queried where the fourth main was we discovered it had not been written on the order, the waiter acknowledging he had overlooked it despite the fact it was the first item ordered. He offered to have it prepared but we declined, because the food quality had been so poor. Which then brings me to the food ... The entrée platter was straight from bags from a supermarket freezer, and included several chicken nuggets ! I could have had this at home !!! The main courses were disappointing ... A fried chicken lemak consisted of one chicken drumstick on and mountain on coconut rice with a tasteless nondescript sauce, a chilli prawn main consisted of six overcooked prawns swimming in a nondescript sauce, mildly chilli, on another mountain of rice, then lastly a prawn claypot, which was delivered to the table steaming and sizzling, consisting of six overcooked prawns, another nondescript sauce and yet another mountain of rice. As an added bonus a metal serving spoon stood upright in the claypot, which, after sustaining severe burns to my fingers and palm, had been sizzled in the oven along with the claypot ... no warning from the waiter, I hasten to add. Needless to explain why we did not wait around for the missing Singapore noodles. We will never return ! Absolutely appalling.

The food was nice and fresh. The setting is fairly plain, and the TV on the wall playing hits of the 80s was a little off putting. That said there were plenty of diners, and certainly our meal was enough to draw us back in the future. Really good value and friendly service.

When there for the banana leaf experience however it was not value for money and tasteless! Despite it said u can have 3 curries which 2 are meat (chicken and fish) however there isn't a piece of chicken or fish that is being served! Literally just the sauce. It is misleading advertisement as it should said gravy instead curry. Then ordered the black pepper crab it was over done and taste burnt! The fried chicken is nice but very expensive as $5.50 for 1 pc of drumstick. Definitely not value for money and I have eaten much better and value for money msian Indian cuisine in Syndal! Wasted my time to drive there!
