Sydney, Sichuan. Sydney, Sichuan. Sydney, Sichuan. Keep saying those words and surely the only restaurant that comes to mind is Spicy China. Encompassed here is everything Australia loves about Chinese cuisine: fresh, vibrant, spicy-soy goodness. You can find Spicy China in the very heart of Sydney – on the CBD’s Druitt Street, to be precise – where you’ll be welcomed by a more than cheerful team. The interior is clean and crisp with no frills to distract from the grade-A food that’s on offer. There’s little not to love – reserve a table at this Sydney haunt now.
One of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Sydney. They have the most amazing spicy chicken in chilli (funnily enough). Definitely recommended. Great service as well
Hip little joint with great food! My favourite was the eggplant dish and the spicy pork. Spent about $20 per person. I'd definitely go again
Recently I ate their stir fried noodles with prawn & vegetables, it was quite good. I will visit again and try other dishes next time.
You’re in Sydney CBD and you’re hungry. You don’t want to pay an extortion for a sub-par lunch or dinner. You want Chinese food. What you want, friends, is Spicy China. The heart of Sydney needs no other Chinese restaurants. Only this one. You can find it on Druitt Street – right opposite the Town Hall and just down the road from Hyde Park – where you’ll find no frills in terms of decor, just simple woods and leathers. No more is needed or wished for, however, because the bar is well-stocked and the service top draw.
In terms of the food, the focus is on Sichuan. Stop by for a dim sum lunch or delve into the mains. Up for grabs is plenty of seafood – the chilli yabbies are a real treat – as well prime meats and a host of vegetarian options. A few favourites not to miss include the cumin lamb ribs and the bon bon chicken. All are dishes that will make you go oooo. Spicy China is popular, so booking ahead is advised.
