These brothers know their way around a clay oven! Tandoori Bros is a fresh face in Adelaide’s Indian restaurant scene, owned and operated by two chef-owners with years of experience cooking in India and in Australia, and who’ve put down roots on the corner of Magill Road and Wells Street in Maylands. Tandoori Bros specialise, obviously, in the art of the traditional South Asian tandoor, but there’s a world of South Asian delights to explore here.

If you’re bringing a couple of brothers by another mother or sisters by a different mister over to Maylands to get stuck into the Tandoori Bros’ take on the Indian restaurant experience, why not opt for a couple of Royal Thali dishes? These platters are complete Indian meals in and of themselves, with three curries plus rice, naan bread, poppadoms, raita and sides. The most lavish, the Maharaja Banquet, comes with a tandoori kebab platter and any four main courses, with dessert and coffee to finish. Of course, Adelaide’s Indian food fans will want to be testing this restaurant’s namesake delicacies – when it comes to the tandoor this Magill Road restaurant is a pro.
Tandoori Bros’ coriander chicken tikka is certainly a recommended tandoori delight, fresh, smoky and sultry at the same time, while South Australian seafood makes its way into the tandoori prawns, specially marinated before being given a good roast in the clay oven. House specials over here in Maylands include the chargrilled barramundi fillet that’s been marinated in Tandoori Bros’ secret masala mix, the goat curry, and a non-meat highlight for Adelaide’s vegan set consisting of aloo gobi, yellow dhal, eggplant masala, rice, roti and salad. With a nod to the Anglo-Indian, Tandoori Bros also do a mean chicken jalfrezi – the UK’s most popular foodstuff, according to some!
