Taste Of Thai - Randwick

When you eat at this cosy restaurant on Belmore Road in Randwick, it quickly becomes clear that the title is not meant to mislead you. This is a place where you’re going to get a true taste of Thailand, simple as that. Of course this means you’ll come across many familiar friends from other Thai restaurants around Sydney, like Thai fishcakes, som tum (green papaya salad) and a rich green curry. The versions you get at Taste Of Thai, though, seem to have quite a bit more to them than what you commonly expect from a Sydney eatery, with complex spice balances and nuances to suit diverse flavour palates. Additionally, things really get special at Randwick’s Taste Of Thai when you venture a little further into the unknown – steamed black fish with homemade chilli and tamarind sauce, or chicken and crab meat wrapped in bean curd, deep fried and served with plum sauce, for example.
