Sometimes names can be misleading, but you’ve got the right impression at this place. A humming, funky cafe and restaurant on High Street, The Espresso Room roasts their own beans on site and pull shots of some of the most addictively aromatic coffee you’ll find in Northcote. Open early every morning, it’s a no-brainer for the day’s first caffeine fix, but that is only the start. The Espresso Room also has incredible food, of course for the Melbourne institution Sunday brunch but also for an impressive lunch, whether you’re trying to impress yourself, someone special or a business delegation. The menu ranges from hefty and hearty (pulled pork and calamari sliders on black brioche, for instance) to dainty and delicate (the macarons here are to die for), so it can really suit any mood and hunger level.
Went there with a large group of seven. Despite this and it being a busy Sunday morning, food was great as was the service from the friendly and attentive staff. Will happily go again.
Great coffee ,plenty of choices on the menu ,something to suit everyone. I loved my seafood linguine. Great place to catch up with friends. Definitely going back.
Good food, good service. Great variety of options on the menu. Just a little bit noisy is the only negative. Would definitely go back again.
They take bookings, have good service and a big breakfast menu. Food is good and portions are large! Very good coffee, worth the visit for your morning cup.
Excellent and good value food. Lovely and friendly service. So many people it took a while for the food to come. When it arrived thoroughly enjoyed it.
One Wait staffer showed little empathy to her customers. A smile would have been nice. Blocked toilet alert was treated with a little disdain. Food was good though
