Every bit the welcoming country pub you may well be hoping to stumble upon around Bournheath, The Nailers Arms attracts a loyal clientele from Bromsgrove and beyond, drawn by the delicious food (available seven days a week) as well as a wide selection of quality beers, wines and spirits and that welcoming atmosphere only possible in a truly local institution. Phil and Shula Witherford are the passionate couple behind this popular bar and contemporary restaurant on Doctors Hill, a place which is hard to leave without a personal promise to the publican that you’ll be back to get your fill again before too long.
Doctors Hill is a sleepy stretch of country road around the quaint country town of Bournheath, so it should come as little surprise that this is where to find a slice of that legendary country hospitality. Instead of a single slice, though, The Nailers Arms dishes it up in ladle-loads. Well-known around Bromsgrove and wider Worcestershire for their fabulous contemporary carvery showcasing succulent meat and seasonal veg, The Nailers Arms also provides a bar stocked with plenty of quality cask ales and fine wines, tasty lighter fare and children’s meals, a cosy atmosphere and anything else you would hope for from an authentic, family-friendly country pub.
Carnivores are in heaven on Doctors Hill in Bournheath. Cooked to perfection and served alongside quality vegetables and rich house-made gravies, roasts of the day at The Nailers Arms are a heartwarming and mouthwatering experience not to be missed, as are the many traditional treats sizzling off the grill. The menu goes much further than meat, however, so whether you’re looking for something lighter (a summer salad or crunchy baguette?), feeding the wee ones (sausages with new potatoes, baked beans and peas are a healthy and popular choice), going veggie (you won’t be sorry for it with the gorgeous red pepper and pesto tart) or a selective coeliac (gravy, Yorkshire puddings and stuffing are all offered gluten-free), you’re bound to find something supremely satisfying at The Nailers Arms just outside Bromsgrove.
The best carvey I've ever had. Food is all cooked fresh and served hot. Staff are friendly and polite highly recommend
Amazing place we have been here so many times, the service is so good and the staff are always welcoming
Visited with friends the carvery was up to scratch as normal. Four meats and usual excellent variety of vegetables. Also managed a pint or 2. Doom bar on today

We had a carvery lunch at The Nailers Arms in Bromsgrove today. The food was extremely good. The beef was tender, moist and tasty and the choice of vegetables were the best I have seen at a carvery. The price was very good too. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. It is the first time we have eaten here, following recommendations by two friends and we will certainly be back.
We visited The Nailers Arms on Saturday 21st January 2017. I found it easy to book online, we had a nice table for 6 of us. Some had Carvery and some choose off the Menu. We all ate at the same time and we were all pleased with our food. Have been before and it continues to be good quality, I do recommend it to friends.
We have dined here at lunch times in the past, hence we booked dinner last night there. Lovely food, nice atmosphere, clean tidy house, friendly staff, well priced. First timers should be warned that the quantity of portions served are big, we will counteract this next time by omitting a course. Would not propose calling in on spec. as one could find it difficult to find a table We had an enjoyable evening at "The Nailers Arms"
This was our first visit to The Nailers Arms. Recommended by several people so decided to give it a go for our wedding anniversary. We weren't disappointed. The food was lovely, the staff were friendly, there was just the right amount of background noise, so that you could easily hold a conversation. Well impressed and likely to make this our new 'go to' restaurant.
Very impressed. Me my fiancé and my daughter ate at The Nailers Arms last Saturday and I can honestly say it was the best carvery we’ve had in a very long time. The young waitress even bought over toddler cutlery (never had this anywhere before!) Couldn’t fault anything and when the bill came we were even more impressed! Will definitely be using again.
Another lovely evening overall at the Nailers Arms, but just a couple of minor criticisms. The lady chef serving the meat seemed inexperienced as she sort of shredded it rather than carved it. Not been served shredded turkey before. She could have been a little more sociable too. Fantastic selection of vegetables as usual but the parsnips , although roasted in appearance were quite raw. We had to ask for fresh cauliflower cheese as what was there was dried up. On the plus side the dauphinois potatoes were to die for as usual. We were a 7.30pm booking, later than we usually book but that shouldn’t make a difference. Not entirely sure, but I think the menu may have changed as my favourite sticky toffee pudding wasnt on the menu......a great advantage to the waistline though. Nothing serious enough to stop us going again. We had a very nice evening overall.
