The Ormond Provedore does things a bit differently from most Melbourne cafes. You may recognise eggs benedict by name, but this version with poached eggs, slow-cooked pork shoulder and apple cider hollandaise on sourdough will have you re-thinking how delicious it can be. Same goes for their scrambled eggs, which are given the delicious spicy chipotle treatment and served with pickled vegetables, fresh coriander and fried shallots. The Ormond Provedore’s impressive, creative menu rolls into lunchtime, too, with enticing options like a smoked salmon open sandwich with labne, snow pea shoots & citrus dill vinaigrette, or a salad of roquette, crispy pear, toasted walnuts, parmesan and balsamic vinaigrette – not to mention some tasty Turkish pides. Put simply: whenever you head to The Ormond Provedore on North Road and whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong. Note that this cafe is busy most of the time, though, so advance bookings are strongly advised.
Great food and lovely courtyard made for a wonderful catch up for the 5 of us on International Women's Day. We might make this our regular ladies lunch spot. Highly recommended.
The food was delicious. We had the Thai beef salad, sticky Korean beer soft tacos & chicken meegoreng and shared them between three and loved it Coffee is excellent too.
Wonderful, caring and considerate staff. Service was terrific, food was wonderfully presented and delicious. A very child-friendly environment and the staff initiated activities for the young ones to keep them happy and settled. A lovely experience. Thank-you very much.
Visited for the first time yesterday. Fabulous food, fabulous friendly service, excellent value for money, local gem, will definitely return. A most enjoyable experience for both of us.
The service really lets this place down, or at least, that's what we felt when we went for brunch recently on a weekend. It was slow and generally lacking. We weren't made to feel particularly welcome - no smiles as we were seated, etc. Then we were amazed that they charged "full price" for smashed avo on toast, and asked additional money for egg and goats cheese. Usually you get the whole lot for almost the same price. It made no sense. The food served to the rest of the table was ok, but nothing that we'd go back for, unfortunately.
The menu was very extensive, making choosing our meal very difficult as they all looked good. We had a wonderful Mothers Day breakfast, the staff were very friendly and efficient. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we will definently be back to try the other meals.
Seated quickly, waitress's patiently waited for the rest of our group to arrive and I had the slow roasted pork eggs Benedict and it was divine! Will definitely order this again! Please put up a menu on your Facebook page Providore!
had a very nice lunch with my friends here, have been here a few times, had the vegie burger which was yum, also shared the waffles
