Get a table before they're gone
To call it a bar is a big stretch..there are 2 steel bar stools looking into service area. Spring roll starters were good, nice and lite....BUT Mains were served while starter plates we’re still on table. I had steamed Barra with ginger & soy broth...no ginger? The desert menu has banana fritters....but guess what ...no fritters available.. Service POOR. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. MARK
Lovely people and delicious food; catered for food intolerances with a smile
Great service and great food. Atmosphere was perfect for a catch up with friends.
Having found an old piano on the premises during the restaurant’s establishment, the owners came to find out the same spot was once home to a piano factory over 150 years ago. Thus the restaurateurs at this Melbourne restaurant changed their name from The Qualia Lounge to the more fitting The Piano Thai Restaurant & Bar. Glamorous and charming, this restaurant on Richmond’s Bridge Road plays host to live piano music often, creating a lovely romantic mood.
We recommend beginning your meal at Melbourne’s The Piano Thai Restaurant and Bar with the delicious Piano Crispy Duck Leg confit – a medley of duck, baby corn, snake beans and Thai basil – or going for a bowl of tom yum soup with chicken or prawns. You can either go vegetarian with dishes like the pad see ew tofu and stir-fried Asian greens, or you can sink your teeth into some delicious crispy pork belly, massaman curry with lamb shank, or stir-fried cashew nut rump. A healthy and zesty choice at The Piano is the grilled Barramundi salad with green papaya, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, coriander, lime leaves and lemongrass. No matter what the occasion, make sure to book ahead when planning to eat at this popular Richmond establishment!
