More about the restaurant: The Roman Empire Bar Restaurant
What did the Romans ever do for us, eh? Well, aside from the aqueducts, the roads, irrigation, public health and sanitation. The Roman Empire bar and restaurant in Brisbane boasts a legacy of cooking that dates back to Roman times, with authentic Italian recipes that have stood the test of time. Of course, the Cosmopolitan Centre in Carindale is a slightly more recent addition to the landscape than the Colosseum or the Circus Maximus, but the tradition of the food is centuries old: pastas and pizzas, risottos and salads as well as plenty of meat and fish dishes. Take a trip back in time – or at least, a trip to Creek Road in Carindale – for an Italian meal that offers something for your entire legion. Book a table though, as they have been known to fill up quickly.

Serving up exceptional Italian food is the name of the game at The Roman Empire. Things are not done by half here, and there is passion flowing right through this Carindale restaurant, in true Italian style. Their menu is of course the star of the show, and we recommend starting your Italian affair with The Roman Empire with the antipasto plate brimming with cured meats, olives, cheeses and pickled vegetables, alongside natural oysters with a spiced gazpacho shot and fresh lemon on the side.
With your palate sufficiently enticed, perhaps go for the Moreton Bay bug risotto in a creamy garlic sauce, or the beef cheek orecchiette with flavoursome vegetable ragout. It would be remiss though to not indulge in one of their pizzas, and the king roberto is topped with pork belly, ham, pepperoni, bocconcini and mozzarella and we’re calling it one of the best pizzas in Brisbane. You’ll also find delicious Italian-style meat and seafood dishes and fresh salads, so everyone is guaranteed to be satisfied. You’ll find The Roman Empire along Creek Road in Carindale, close to Mount Gravatt East, about thirty minutes from Brisbane’s CBD. Bookings are essential.
