The great Aussie corner bar is a tradition that dates back as long as the country itself. The Talbot Hotel are flying the flag into the 21st century, providing the good people of Hobart – and New Town in particular – with beers, burgers and bets in the grand old style. Head on over to their location, on the corner of New Town Road and Roope Street, with all your mates and get ready for something special: sport on the big screens, beers on tap, a bookies on the premises and a menu as long as your arm. Split some chilli fries, chicken wings or onion rings across your group, or be selfish and plump for a burger or a steak from the grill, a classic bar schnitzel or a whole rack of BBQ pork ribs. There are salads as well, and seafood specials, as well as a kids’ menu, so bring the whole brood down to New Town and The Talbot Hotel. This is one of the best sports bars in Hobart, however, and they do get crowded for big games: book a table now and save yourself the stress of getting a seat.
great atmosphere, awesome meals and great friendly service. will definitely be spreading the word, and look forward to have another top meal very soon. 😁😁
Meal was good value, quality okay and short wait time. Dined there quite a few times as it is nearby. Occasionally disappointed but would still recommend if you after a budget meal. Pays to check how many bookings there are as it can slow up if there are large numbers.
Gr8 food in a relaxing environment complemented by friendly staff and service, and of course your favourite cold beer on tap - Well done Brett and team :)
Great staff, food is a good pub meal at a great price. Does get very busy so I would recommend you book at busy times.
Good service within a expected time frame, food was of a high quality for this venue. Requests on meal requirements met, have recommended this venue to work employees gaining some good feed back from them.
It was rather busy for a Sunday night so would suggest booking to ensure a table. Amazing food cheap prices and nice old school pub atmosphere. Highly recommend.
