Further Information

First things first: the coffee. At Port Melbourne’s Third Wave Cafe, owner Inga has searched far and wide for Australia’s best cup of joe, and after months of careful contemplation, she decided on 5 Senses, a local roaster whose single-roast coffees and superlative blends are the talk of Melbourne’s gourmet coffee scene. Plus, having received training from some of the world’s best baristas, Inga and her staff really know their stuff – this is a cafe you can count on for an exceptional espresso.

Alongside Melbourne’s finest caffeinated beverages, Third Wave Cafe’s kitchen churns out some of the city’s very best barbecue dishes – that’s American-style barbecue, to be exact – as well as Russian specialties from Inga’s homeland. Featuring ribs with meat that falls off the bone, pulled-pork sliders and sandwiches galore, Third World Cafe on Port Melbourne’s Rouse Street offers up a real smorgasbord of options. Even better, the cafe opens up early for breakfast and serves incredible eggs, parfaits, muffins and satisfying platters. Make sure to reserve ahead!

Good environment, I couldn't make it at my initial time and they didn't mind helping me change it. Good amount and flavour of the food.

I dined in with a few friends for the all you can eat deal! We were all really excited coming in for this, and the food we had exceeded all expectations. I had the crazy pig milkshake as well, and although I was a bit skeptical at first, the skepticism was put to rest! It was amazing! We loved all 3 courses, and we stuffed ourselves until we couldn't do more. The waitresses were also kind enough and accommodating to provide us take-away containers to bring home the rest of what we couldn't finish. For the meat-lovers we are, this was heaven! Thank-you once again! Will be back again for sure!

The food at Third Wave Cafe is wonderfully cooked and full of flavour. We ended up sharing 3 large mains between 4 people which still ended up being more food then we could eat, but every bite was delicious!

Seriously great food! Some of the best beef ribs I've ever had, was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately we had to leave half way through our evening because of a family emergency, but the staff was so good about it, they packed up the food we had ordered but hadn't been able to eat yet and gave us no fuss whatsoever. Wonderful food and great service, will absolutely be back to finish off unfinished business!

Had the All You Can Eat Tues with two others, it was easily the best meal I've ever had out in my entire life from both a quality and value for money perspective. The beef rib in particular opened my eyes to how inadequate every other BBQ place I've been to has been, but everything that was served up was amazing, with quick and friendly service to boot. Absolutely recommended.

Friendly relaxed service. Food is fantastic and serves are pretty big. Bring an appetite. It's all about the meat here, and friends the meat is very good. The brisket is about as beefy as they come and a goes nicely in their take on a Reuben. We'll definately return again to sample some more of the menu. Believe the hype!

The food was amazing (as always). The only issue we had was that despite booking through Quandoo, they did not have our booking (I even had the email from Quandoo to confirm that I had the right time/day/location). Thankfully they had space available, otherwise it would have been really frustrating. But, the service and food were fantastic!

didnt want to stop eating even when i was full i didnt want to leave anything on the plate it was that good, definitely returning back. just a friendly tip if you order just think is it, what you order normally and half it because you will get full and just stare at the left over food

Third Wave was everything you expect it to be, the food was unbelievable and staff and atmosphere was fantastic. I will definitely be going back for more. From the starters to the Pork ribs and the burgers the place is amazing, already recommended it to a friend and he is going on Sat with the partner

Expensive, but the food was good. Service was ok, waiter might be new to the job as was a bit confused about answering questions about portion sizes for the sides! Don't order the large portion size of potatoes unless there are 50 of you to eat them! ;-) We came away stuffed and had to go for a long walk after!!

The environment was very average and some of meals appear to be compatible with this type of eatery but in fact are not ,rather they are expensive based on portion and quality ,also we waited 1 hour for a an entree of chips and onion rings - they prioritise take away Orders in place of sit down diners . Overall the food was good but not brilliant or compatible to a typical BBQ or grill restaurant - it's very much a cafe trying to become a restaurant - for the cost I much rather attend the railway hotel.

We were there for the Father's Day degustation, the food was amazing and plenty of it! Staff members were friendly and very accomodating, even offering the left overs and half the desserts to take home as we were too full to finish. Overall a fantastic experience!

The food was wonderful! I had the Hangover... Over and it did what the name promised, all the while being delicious. Staff was great, too, and the service was quick. I definitely plan on heading back there to try all the food

Great food but waiting over an hour for Burgers and mac and cheese is a bit over the top. What puzzled me was for over half an hr there was NOTHING coming out of the kitchen! Nothing at all! No apologies from the wait staff and I was ignored upon many attempts to call someone over for an explanation. Hindsight we should have charged them for the extra parking we had to pay for as well as being late to an event planned for late that night (who would have thought we would have needed over 3 hrs for dining!) Overall, a lot of hype for a place that did not deliver, won't be returning, many other places offer same food with better service.

Make sure you're in loose pants! All you can eat Tuesday was up to the mark. Excellent selection and massive portions. The beef ribs...... O.M.G Allowing a doggy bag at the end was great as we were far too full to finish! Staff are friendly and helpful.

Went with a table of ten and everyone loved their meals. Their pork riblettes were a standout, meat falling off the bone but had amazing flavour and texture. their Juicy Lucy burger was fantastic too. Definitely will return.
