Wollongong’s city centre gets supercharged with the addition of Town Hall Chamber to the growing selection of restaurants, bars and venues popping up along Crown Street. Occupying a former warehouse between Crown Street and Town Hall Place, this fresh-faced venue includes a restaurant plus a deli selling cheeses and charcuterie, a well-stocked bar, and a place for local music to take centrestage. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are available, but whether it’s for food or entertainment or both, Town Hall Chamber is sure to become synonymous with Wollongong’s Arts Precinct scene.
In the heart of Wollongong’s city centre, the Town Hall Chamber attracts quite the following of local foodies looking to fill their boots with fresh, creative and Australian-style fare rivalling the hotspots of Sydney. Situated in a warehouse on Crown Street, the decor is rustic and homely complete with street art adorning the walls. Despite its interior and overall vibe just oozing cool, it’s the menu of Town Hall Chamber that really shines.
Expect to find – as with any good Australian-style spot – a range of delicious breakfast items including the coal coast bagel with rose cream cheese, apple chips and pepitas, as well as a refreshing take on the bacon & egg roll packed with double egg, double bacon, aged cheddar, a hash brown and onion, and chilli jam. No visit to the Town Hall Chamber is complete without a few shared dishes to share among friends. We recommend opting for the polenta chips with manchego cheese, jalapeno and lime; mussels arrabiata topped with fresh chilli and sourdough bread; and the pork, fennel & ricotta meatballs with salsa verde. Whatever tickles your fancy, the Town Hall Chamber in Wollongong’s city centre will have you covered. Booking ahead is essential!
Cool setting with a relaxed and fun vibe. We waited for a while for someone to greet us and show us to our table. The service was a little slow but the staff were really friendly. Would have been better if the DJ was playing more well known songs so people felt comfortable to get up to dance.
Music (Jazz) quality was excellent for a venue with no entry fee. The food quality is limited. Overall had a great experience and would go again.
