When the call of a weekend yum cha session is heard in the southern Melbourne suburb of Mentone, it’s to Xing Restaurant that many head. There are a number of Asian dining options scattered about the neighbourhood hub stretching from Balcombe Road to Mentone Parade, where you’ll find Xing, but with a menu packed with superlatively prepared Chinese-Cantonese dishes presented in an expansive, relaxed and breezy atmosphere, this particular restaurant is commonly the default destination. Beef, chicken, pork and duck; seafood, prawns and scallops; classic entrees, soups and vegetarian dishes; rice, noodles and Chinese omelettes – all of these and more make their way onto Xing’s a la carte and affordable set menus for two or more people. Book ahead – especially for the popular Saturday and Sunday yum cha sittings.
Service was excellent the atmosphere was inviting but the food wasn't the best... chicken was nice but the pork and beef meat was hard and not alot of flavor in the dishes. .
