Y14 Japanese Seafood Kitchen & Bar

First time at Japanese Seafood Kitchen was great in every way. Very fresh sashimi, followed by crisp, light Tempura fish and vegetables. Liked the casual airy atmosphere, polite and prompt service.

Fantastic night… great food, wine & drinks. They even fixed the weather for us. We always enjoy dining at Y14

Great food, wine and service. Table allocated on booking a bit cramped in a corner but the replacement one was bright and airy.

The weekend tax of 10% is a scam. It is only advertised after booking and ordering the meal before payment.

We enjoyed our anniversary dinner to Y14 and the food was delicious. Just a small problem with our order of Y14 Roll which some how got forgotten but otherwise the service was prompt as well.

Food was fab! The timer alarms in the kitchen that went off every few minutes were very annoying and totally ruined the vibe/atmosphere. It interrupted our conversations the whole night as we kept thinking an alarm was going off! Also it was a super cold night and the front door I had to ask three times to be closed which was also annoying. But in having said all that the food was delicious!

Sushi was great but other items were meh. Calamari was chewy and fried chicken lacked flavor

I’m not a huge fan of Japanese food but my wife and daughter liked it

Good selection of sashimi and sushi with a couple of hot food options. Definitely tasted fresh and the oysters were a highlight. The food quality is consistent each time I visit, and on par with most decent Japanese sushi bars. Cocktails here are nice but definitely on the sweeter side. Their selection of wines, including their fruity Japanese wines are great. Staff are nice although often quite busy as the restaurant is booked out almost every night towards the end of the week. It can be hard to get their attention, so the QR codes for ordering are handy. Sitting at the bar gives a fun feel to a night at Y14, and it’s nice to choose between indoor and heated outdoor seating, especially since the restaurant is located so close to the bay. Altogether a bit more expensive than most similar Japanese restaurants, but location and atmosphere contribute to this.
