Yumei Japanese Restaurant in Sydney’s CBD offers diners an extensive menu of options beginning with a selection of salads and ending with some delightful Japanese desserts. We recommend starting off your meal with a sampling of Yumei’s tasty tapas like tender wagyu tataki, kingfish carpaccio or okonomiyaki, a Japanese savoury pancake topped with bonito and a homemade special sauce. As for the main courses, you can’t go wrong with the sizzling scallops with spicy garlic cream sauce, teriyaki eel steak or Yumei’s tasty chicken katsu. There’s much more where that came from, but we recommend seeing it for yourself – book ahead to make your Japanese food dreams become a reality at this Haymarket restaurant.
Another enjoyable experience with my friend. Sashimi was so fresh. Tampura was yummy. Will definitely bring the whole family and fiends here next time. Thank you for the outstanding services!
We had quick dinner here before we went to the show. Food is delicious. Staff are very friendly. I booked again for this Thursday. :)
Great Central location. Delicious food with plenty of vegetarian options. The service was prompt and polite. And it's also reasonably priced. I'll definitely be back.
Very cozy. Food is great ! Staff are awesome. They have accommodated us a big group of 12 to dine together. Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!
The staff were friendly and provided great service. They were well organised and the tables were set up well. I really like how one of the waitresses took a few photos of our group. Excellent place to celebrate your birthday!
We had a booking for 11.30 as we were going to a show at 1pm (Kinky Boots). We arrived on time and placed our orders but it took at least 20 minutes for some food to arrive. One person had already finished her meal, I was mid way through mine but my sister didn't get her Bento Box until we'd finished our meals. Sadly she had to gobble her meal so that we were in time for the show. We have experienced this problem on other visits too. As much as we like the food there I think in future when attending a show we may go somewhere else where they appreciate our time restraints.
Interesting visit with my family. They do not know the difference between red and white wine, so after us picking the wine which was there special with picture on the table we finally got a red after they bought 3 whites out to the table. Food was very good and the service quite quick for that as we were attending a show at the capital threatre
The food was delicious, however it was disappointing that the food did not arrive together at the table and some people had to wait. Loved the dumplings and teriyaki chicken. Good value for money, overall a nice experience.
The food and green is delicious!😄 The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Customer service is great and service is fast. Great value for money and the restaurant is in a great location! 😄
Fantastic food and prompt service. The only area for improvement would be to place the tables slightly further apart so you did not disturb neighbouring diners when trying to get in and out.
