Sitting very pretty amid the clutch of restaurants and cafes dotted along Main Brach’s Tedder Avenue, the award-winning Domanis is the place to go for innovative Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, tapas and cocktails. Running the gamut of daily dining, Domanis does breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert, drinks and small plates and – as if all this wasn’t enough – a packed schedule of entertainment plus a special kids’ menu. Signature dishes at Domanis include the porchetta pork belly, the duck confit, and the marinara, this last particularly good considering the restaurant’s Gold Coast location, packed with pan-fried calamari, local king prawns, mussels and market-fresh fish of the day. Remember to take advantage of the house 2-for-1 deals – Monday and Wednesday’s confit duck and a bottle of Babich pinot noir for two, Tuesday and Sunday’s steak and shiraz special, and the seafood catch-of the-day plus a bottle of Babich black label sauvignon blanc or pinot gris.
We were welcomed with a smile, shown to our table, given menus and water. Service was perfect and food even better, best calamari I have eaten so tender it was spreadable. Menu and wine list excellent. A pleasure to dine where tables and chairs are not on top of each other.
All of the staff were friendly and attentive. Our pastas were tasty and the servings were generous. The musician sang some of our favourites well but wasn’t intrusive. A troop of ankle-biters enjoying the night out added zest to the ambience. Thanks to Domanis for an enjoyable dinner.
Food and service is always good at Domani's. Highly recommended, great atmosphere and location. Wine selection is pretty good too. Quality is great in food, drink, and service.
