Soup, glorious soup. Do you remember your first taste of soup? Probably not, but even if you do you’ll feel like a newborn having their first sip of broth at First Taste soup, this outlet of the franchise in Melbourne’s Springvale. The specialty at this restaurant along Windsor Avenue, close to the corner with Springvale Road, is Chinese claypot chicken, and boy is it good value. Other delicious soupy goodnesses on First Taste’s menu include kimchi seafood hotpot (for a spicy Korean kick), classic wonton soups, and much more besides. Looking for a little luxury without breaking the bank? First Taste Soup should be your first port of call in this part of the city, and we can heartily recommend the quail on rice claypot with extra Chinese sausage – and don’t forget to enjoy all that claypot rice goodness when you get to the crackling at the bottom!
The food was fantastic! The service was not. We had to ask to order, we had to ask for a container, we had to ask for utensils. i think you get the drift. Go for the food though because that is well worth it
